Actually looking to sell some stuff and trim down the collection.
Only game I'm really looking for is Kizuna Encounter MVS.
Waitin' for the paychecks to catch up with the expenses. Looking for Batsugun (JP SS), Zanac X Zanac (JP PSX), Sin and Punishment (JP N64), Strikers 1945 (JP SS), and 3-in1 (JP PSX). Sniffin' around for a Trance Vibrator, so to speak. On the U.S. front, have my eye on Return Fire (PSX), Night Warriors (SS), Nectaris: Military Madness (PSX), Front Mission 3 (PSX), Ghost in the Shell (PSX), and Star Control (Gen)
General goal: Laying in games that I might fancy playing one of these days.
Chances of obtaining the full catalog for any given system: Zero
Is there any compelling reason why I should chase down Namco Museum Vol. 5? (Other than "I've got the first four")

i want every single video game made that i can buy cheap, packed into as tight a space as possible, like the library of congress.

I would like to get all the Sega Genesis games and the 32X games.
The problem is that I have about have of the Genesis games and only 14 32X games. Still a long way to go. But not bad for only collecting for 2 years or so.
1) play and review games I already have
2) get my 5200 sticks fixed!
3) get some 2600 Homebrews
4) Continue to work on my Saturn Collection, but slowly (57 games so far)
5) Get "closer" to a complete (game and manual) NTSC Atari 2600 collection as well as the exclusive First party PAL titles. (around 92 carts wanted, many more manuals)
6) figure out what late PSOne releases aren't CRAP and pick them up.
Cheers,
Ben
Hey Ben, you'll probably want to be avoiding Sea Monkeys then
Lemme see..
Next purchase will be a Gamecube of my VERY OWN, so I can love it and hold it and squeeze it.. and finish Zelda, and play more PSO again
And then the purchase after that isn't gonna be for me, but for Willie for his birthday
Current short-term goal: I'm just missing 1 Master System Card game (Bank Panic)
Longer term goal: I've just passed 50% of all Euro Master System games (143/282)
Looooooooooooooong term goal: I've got about 25% of the 531 Euro Megadrive games I'm aware of.
A General increase in numbers... I have around 300 NES games, 20 SMS, 20 TG-16, 70 SNES, 11 3d0, 14 Saturn, and 100 genesis games. ALL of which I'm missing TONS of commons, but I can never seem to pick up a lot of them
My Classic systems (atari 2600,5200,7800,coleco,intv, O2, Channel F) are all almost COMPLETE, so I'm trying to not worry about those as much right now

Only 2 goals for me:
1. Complete my NES collection. Need about 90 more games and Im finished. Got most the hard-to-find titles already too (Panesians, Aladdin's, Active Enterprises). That Stadium Events is going to be a tough one to get. I'm not counting the Sachen carts though.
2. Finish my Virtual Boy collection. Only need Jack Bros. (US) and Virtual Bowling and I'll have a complete collection of all Jap and US titles. Yeah, I know thats only 33 games, but some of those Japanese titles are tough to get!
1. To complete a boxed N64 complete USA set
2. To get a Supergrafx system and complete a complete SG set, which shouldn't be that bad, although will cost...
3. To get an Amiga CD32 already!
2600: Sword of Saros, Air Raid, Gauntlet and Out of Control
Odyssey (1): WIN, Interplanetary Voyage, Basketball
Colecovision: Bit Corp games. Aside from those, I should be complete on CV
Intellivision: Congo Bongo and Body Slam Pro Wrestling boxes
Vectrex: 3D Narrow Escape cart only
Videopac: #48,#57,#58 and #60
These last 5 Mattel hh's: Soccer 2,Space Battle,Missile Alert, Invisible Alien Neutralizer,Backgammon
If any of you have any of those for trade, let's talk. I'm motivated.
Congressman Ianoid
pure academic needs....
i need a copy of Tekken 3, Power Stone, and any of the Turok series (preferably for from Turok 3 to the current ones out).
finish a video piece, and need to capture to video these three titles to finish. Need ASAP! only 2 weeks to pull off this miracle!

it's log
it's big
it's heavy
it's wood
I am not sure I have too many goals. I'ld love to pick up a working Atari 5200 controller and I certainly wouldn't mind picking up a Colecovision (Never had one, so it is an interest) or Intellivision (I had one as a kid and haven't had one since). I hope everybody realizes their goals!
Hmm...seems like SOMEbody's next collecting goal might be "finding" a Soukyuguragalisticexpialidociousuntai PCB that "somehow" got lodged between their butt cheeks...Originally Posted by Captain Wrong

YES. The Legend of Valkyrie. Worth the price of the disc alone. Excellent game with wonderful music. Great fun. The obvious answer to your question would be "because Pac-Mania is on there." Which it is, and it's great. Dragon Spirit is wonderful as well. Metro-cross and Baraduke are obscure and goofy, but interesting. Make no mistake, however, the reason to get it (other than having a "complete" set) is the Legend of Valkyrie. You can play it on MAME, but only in Japanese (under the name "Valkyrie No Densetsu"). If that's not an issue, great. Plus all of the museum extras make it cool as well.Originally Posted by bargora
I said "complete" set because there is a sixth, Japanese-only disc called Namco Museum Encore, which is also wonderful, if you can find it!
@Ianoid--I have an extremely hard time believing that you would need anything! You've GOT everything, bro! I have to say once again that it was a rare and wonderful opportunity last summer that I found something that you actually didn't already have and wanted. Twice! You helped me find some of my most holy grails (most notably Frogger 2 for the 2600--not the most rare game, I know, but immensely personally significant--and Atari Stunt Cycle.). Great example of a win-win situation.
As for my own goals, I've been wanting to acquire the entire 5200 library for years (minus homebrews--although I should really get Koffi--and prototypes, which are already on the multicart) and as of last summer, closed the gap to three. But they're the three hardest to find, so it will probably be three forever. If I had to pick only one of the three (K-Razy Shoot-Out, Meteorites, Bounty Bob Strikes Back), I'd pick BBSB because it would be the most fun to play and is not available on the multicart, and would right a decade-old wrong--I did have the opportunity to buy it new from Best Electronics years ago for $30, which is positively chump change now. Speaking of multicarts, I'd just like to take this opportunity to say that Sean Kelly does indeed rule and is a fine, friendly fellow. (In case there were any doubt.)
I haven't really been collecting any games at all since CGE last year, I guess I've gotten collecting fatigue. Plus grad school and certain types of people give me enough to focus on and worry about. However, I still really want, and have always dearly wanted, a Bally Astrocade. And The Incredible Wizard. That's it. It's all I need.
1. Buy cheap current system games
2. Complete my U.S. Dreamcast collection. (got a long way to go)
3. Play more often
i picked up a dreamcast not too long ago, and my new goal, which i have a loooong way to go on is to get the complete dreamcast catalogue... by my figures, i have 9% of it right now. not bad for a couple weeks work tho. i don't figure it'll be too bad, because except for a few titles, everything is really cheap. we'll see how long it takes... (i'm guessing 2 years, hah).
I'm on a Neo Geo Craze....for AES and MVS carts..etc.
My current goal is to have every different Neo Geo MVS title..bare cart or Kit..
I think I can finish this goal by the end of this year...while..buying AES carts here and there..until the MVS carts are all bought..then I'll focus more on AES carts..
The prototype games are gonna be the hardest to get..but they show up from time to time..
Two years ago I was on a handheld/tabletop game craze..I have as many as I want now..,,but picking up a few here and there.
My collecting goal for the very near future is to go down the street to the pawn shop and pick up that reciever for the super scope for the snes.
My near future collecting goal is to get Gilligan's Island for the NES. Whenever I bid on it on ebay it shoots up to like 20 bucks for some reason. When I forget to bid, it stays low. But I would rather buy it in town though. (I believe this was my collecting goal the last time we did this. At least I made an attempt )
