    Default FC Mobile?

Does anybody know anything about this machine. It looks cool, but I was wondering if it plays and how the video looks? Linky

hmm i havent seen one of these yet, had an fc twin and it was a pretty nice little machine. Id hope it looks better than the legendary game axe color haha. but for the price its certainly the more obtainable portable nes solution.

Keep in mind that I have literally NO experience with this machine, but just looking at it, I would expect that it would suck.

I learned the following from that auction link.

She's got a "huge" 2.4 inch LCD screen.

Looks neat, but I'd assume it's poor quality.
I did notice something with the buttons. On that unit, the A button is on the left and the B button is on the right, but the NES controller is the opposite of that. So I wonder if the A button on that would be the A button on a regular NES or if it would be the right (B) button. I hope that made sense.

There was a thread about the FC Mobile here a long time ago, I remember looking at it when I was thinking of getting one myself. I think the consensus was that it's shoddily made and the screen's blurry.

If this is the case, I can tell you from my personal experience of collecting NES clones ... that is often the kiss of death for "playability" of most good games on the system.

One never realizes how important the button arrangement on these things are until you play with one that has backwards B and A buttons.

I agree. How could they F-up something like that. I still might get it just to see for myself. When I do, I will give a proper review on this thing.

another thing to think about is whether the game cartridge will slip around in there causing resets or freezes. i had one of the famicom portables years ago & this was a common problem. others were blurring on the screen and bad sound, as well as game compatability (castlevania 3,etc). i wonder how long its battery power is too.

If anybody is interested in a portable NES, but doesn't mind not being able to run ACTUAL NES cartridges ...

...even though it suffers from the "backwards button" syndrome ... I'd recommend the "OneStation Portable".

It's cheap, it's about as small as a Gameboy Micro, has an AWESOME screen (great resolution) it runs proprietary multicarts with NES and Genesis games on them, and it has TV output.

They're pretty plentiful on the web these days, but the carts are starting to thin out, so I'd get them while they're still out there.

www.dealextreme.com has the systems with free shipping from Hong Kong, and they come with a really good 99 game (no repeats) NES multicart.

My only complaint about the thing is the backwards buttons.
