I know this is an old thread but I wasn't sure where else to post this. It seems PlayItBogart is making reviews again, he has a new account on youtube and posted a new review at the beginning of this September. It's been years since he's made a review so it's a nice surprise.

    Link to review.

I don't watch many reviewers on youtube, but Classic Game Room (InecomCompany) and Turbo Views (spida1a) are my favorites shows. I especially love Turbo Views. It's informative, family friendly, and the host is extremely pleasant and relateable (if that's a word).

I occasionally enjoy reviews from Lazy Game Reviews (phreakindee), and Pete's Gameroom (PeteDorr). I use to love AVGN, but not so much anymore. His new stuff doesn't really do it for me. I'm not an AVGN hater though.

I really like Lazy Game Reviews too, when he's doing classic stuff. I don't much care for his modern reviews, and I don't bother watching all the Sims 3 pack reviews he does.

I really like Spida1a! His arcade room/pinball stuff is awesome as well.

I also love BlkDog7, who does videos on the arcade games he's just purchased and fixed up and whatnot, he's really cool as well.

And also definitely Classic Game Room, I Love his reviews, his coverage of stuff is great.

I also love TurboViews. Chris said recently on facebook that he was about finished with the next episode, but his hard drive crashed and he lost everything, so he has to redo it.

I don't like the Happy Console Gamer. I left a comment criticizing something and rather than responding to my comment, he deleted it. If he won't allow negative comments on his videos, what does that say about him as a person?

DP should hold a game review contest!

Everyone go and make a game review and put it on youtube and let a select panel of judges from DP vote and the winner wins a cool prize or something

The Classic Game Room guy does a good job. Only reviews I bother to ever watch on YouTube.

I used to really like CGR, now I can't stand him.

The "reviews" are almost entirely the same and he just keep reusing the same jokes. It gets old.

In fact, I can make this post into a CGR review just by mentioning flame throwers and truxton.

edit: i'll throw out two thumbs up though, one for clanofthegraywolf and another snowcon3 - these guys are great

Normally I would say the Angry Video Game Nerd, but he's got his own website and primarily uses GameTrailers, can't really call him a Youtube game critic, so I think I'm going to go with AqualungGameReviews at this moment. He doesn't really have a lot in the way of entertainment as most of the more popular game critics, but he gets to the point and goes over both the good and the bad about the games he reviews while sometimes offering a little trivia, some tips, looks at some glitches and sometimes even gives a whole brief, detailed walkthrough. If you haven't heard of him, he generally does Atari and NES games, usually the more obscure unheard-of titles.

Well said. I enjoy print review too, but there is something magical about a well executed video review.

I second this. The Happy Video Game Nerd is awesome. While his character is a parody of AVGN, the enthusiasm Derek exudes for lost gems is convincing enough apart from the source of his inspiration. In addition to doing a great job of giving background info to a game, he has a strong on camera personality that makes his wit all the more poignant. Definitely one of the best I've seen. It's a shame the man can't receive a contract ala AVGN so he could devote more well funded time time to reviewing games.

Oh... one more reviewer who I think is worth noting: Rinry at RinryGameGame. Her videos are a nice mix of clever and cute. I don't know of any other retro video game reviewers who are quite as adorable as she is. Also, I learned how to make my NES games work consistently by using the wiggle method she showed on one of her videos, which was a catalyst for the renaissance of my NES and SNES collecting, so I have a sentimental sweetness for her too. Here is that video:

I think that's a fun idea. Is anyone else up for this?

I am. But my computer is not up for it right now.

    Maybe in October / November?

Quite adorable, actually. I'll have to check out more of her videos.

Enjoying TheLastGamertube. He has an amazing collection of console and arcades in his home. He actually built a room; I mean, added another section to his home!, to set up all his consoles and games.
