So do you? I passed a bunch up today. I saw 2 PS2 boxes and a Gamecube box.

Yes, actually.
I need 3 more and I have every known PSX / PSOne variant.
I save them for the consoles I own, but I don't buy them for ones I don't.
I don't go out of my way for them, but I get them when and if I can do so cheaply. I think the last one I went after was a Jaguar box. This guy running a local shop had the box as decor but no accompanying console for it, so I talked it out of him for $10. That was maybe three or four years ago.
A Virtual Boy box would be pretty useful now that I think about it.

For the consoles I own, yes. They're as important to me as boxed games, I hate seeing the few loose carts float around my shelf.
I need to find boxes for my NES, SNES and PS.
Dracula: The constant villain of the series. His usual tactics include breaking a number of wine glasses and transforming into his true form.
Seeing this thread makes me want to cry. The mint boxes recently thrown away by my parents:
Super Nintendo Donkey Kong Set
Virtual Boy Box
PSONE Box, PSX Box
Sega Master System Box
Came home one day and saw them all smashed and in the trash. Yeah, parents just dont understand.
If I get a box with the system, I'll keep it, but I don't actively hunt them down. If I got the chance to acquire a box for a system I don't own and have no plans to own, then I'd sell or trade it off.
Here's the consoles I have the boxes for:
-PS2 (30001 model)
-GBA SP (Onyx)
-DS (Hot Rod Red Mario Kart DS bundle)
-Gamecube (Jet Black) - This is the only box I didn't have when I bought the system, as I bought a used Jet Black console that didn't have its box. The box came from a friend who used who own a Jet Black console.
I think I have the box for my N64 as well, but the box was pretty beat up when I bought the console (in fact, one of the flaps was missing). I can't remember if I put it in storage or got rid of it. If I did get rid of it, then my DS is the only used system I've purchased that I still have the box for.

I keep boxes for systems that I have and will occasionally trade for/buy boxes for lose systems of mine. I like to have all the original package for pretty much everything I own. Currently I have:
Commodore VIC-20 (boxed)
Mattel HyperScan (boxed)
Microsoft XBOX (boxed)
Neo Geo Pocket Color (boxed)
Nintendo 1 (boxed)
Nintendo 64 (boxed)
Nintendo DS (boxed)
Nintendo Gameboy Color (boxed)
Nintendo Gameboy Advance SP (boxed)
Nintendo Wii (boxed)
Retro Duo Twin (boxed)
Sony Playstation (boxed)
Sony Playstation 2 (boxed)
Sony Playstation 3 (boxed)
I have an original Atari junior box. It says "new" and everything. Although i'm not huge on console boxes, Iam proud of that one.
If I saw a loose box for a cool console I didn't have (back when I didn't have virtually all of them), I'd buy it if it was cheap. Why not if it looks cool? Unless space is an issue, of course.
I will pick one up if I see it, but not unless it is reasonably priced. <5

I collect console boxes, especially for systems that I don't have currently set up. I'd rather store the system in the original box.
Only have my consoles boxed, no empty boxes. I should first get an actual collection going before I start thinking about boxes
