Went to a local game store that's trying to sell off their Atari stuff, walked with:
    2600:
    Marine Wars
    Fast Food
    Pitfall II - Lost Caverns

All loose and a buck each. Looks like I'm buying loose VCS carts again.
Oh well, great games by any means. They had Karate, but it was the common one.

Also saw in their $5 bin:
Gradius III & IV (CIB) for the PS2, goes great with the Gradius V

Passed up on a great copy of Ultimate Bust-A-Move for the Xbox in the bin, but I'll hold off for another week before I get more games. I need to obsorb the pick-ups of things I've received lately, still listening to the records I got too. So of course I had to pick up a CD today, "Jamiroquai - Traveling without Moving."

I found the nes games complete at replays for 4.99 each. The gauntlet II looks like brand new. Fuun super combo came in the mail for 20 bucks. Super Mario World 2 was 1.00 at a pawn shop. That Willy Beamish still has some factory seal around the CD. It looks like someone almost opened it but decided not to half-way.

I really think there's been a pile of new Gauntlet II's released to the public in the last year. I've seen a couple in finds threads recently, including the sealed copy I recently picked up.

    Nice finds.

I'm guessing by "Upstate NY" you mean near Albany, because I'm pretty sure I saw that same Craigslist posting, but passed because I don't have a Colecovision and don't really collect for the 2600 unless I happen on something in a lot. Congrats though!

Yes, thats the posting. Colecovision is my favorite retro system. It was my first system as a kid. Too bad the lot was mostly atari, but there were some good ones, so I'm not complaining. 3 of the coleco games In that lot were nice additions to my collection. The rest are doubles.
If you don't mind me asking, Where are you in NY?

They won't from what I've heard. This compilation is awesome, it has no controller lag, and SNK allows you to play as the 2 bosses in Kizuna without a code. They even put in a seperate training mode.

Also, Sunsoft is having SNK release a compilation for them that includes Waku Waku 7.

PS1 games found at a video rental store that were for sale.

    Wing Commander IV - $3

Saw Final Fantasy VII (GH) out there but it was not listed for sale, only for rent. I asked the owner if she'd be willing to sell it, she said yes, but not for $3. It would have to be for $8.

    I grudgingly accepted her terms

    A darn good day.

Decent weekend of finds, some really old stuff and some fairly new stuff.
On Friday evening, I see a post on FreeCycle from a guy who is always posting good stuff that I never manage to get, this one entitled "Assorted Game Pads" I figured it was a bunch of dirty/broken Atari joysticks and paddles, boy was I wrong. When I got there the guy showed me the box of controllers, I was content with it and agreed to take them off his hands. But then he tells me he has a box of disks too, and asks if I was interested. Of course I told him I was and he pulls out a huge box full of old computer games. I glanced through them and chatted for a little bit, giving him the limited information I knew about them. So I walked out of there with:
    Suncom Tac 3 joystick
    Set of Atari paddles
    2 Gemsticks
    500XJ Epyx Joystick
    Wico joystick
Playstation power cord and AV cable
    RCA cable joiner

Where in the world in is carmen sandiego Deluxe edition (CIB) Mac 6 3.5" floppy disks
Super Bowl Sunday (CIB) Commodore 64 5.25" floppy
The hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy (CIB) Commodore 64 5.25" floppy
Invaders of the lost tomb/dark tower (CIB) C64 5.25" floppy
Kids on keys (CIB) C64/Atari 800 cartridge
    Spitfire Ace (CIB) 5.25" floppy
    Q*Bert (CIB) C64 cartridge
    Gunship (CIB)C64 5.25" floppy
High Roller C64 (CIB? It's like a folder, kind of similar to a record jacket) 5.25" floppy)
The Bard's Tale (CIB? same as above) 2 5.25" floppies
Music Construction Set (Missing disk, same as above) 5.25" floppy?
Castle Wolfenstein (CIB) C64 5.25" floppy
    Blue Max 2001 (CIB) C64/Atari 5.25" floppy
Battle Chess (CIB) C64/128 5.25" floppy
Club Casine (box, disk only) Mac 3.5" floppy
    Kinder Comp (CIB) C64 cartridge
Geoworks Ensemble (CIB) PC 5 3.5" floppies
California Pro Golf (disk only) C64/128 5.25" floppy
    Karateka 5.25" floppy only
    L.A. Swat/Panther 5.25" floppy only
The rocky horror show 5.25" floppy only
The Hulk 5.25" floppy and paper sleeve only
Spider-Man 5.25" floppy and paper sleeve only
The fourth protocol 5.25" floppy and manuals only.
Final Fantasy IX Online strategy guide
Few dozen copied game 5.25" disks
Dozens of 5.25" floppy files/programs, mostly copied stuff.

Despite limited time and scattered rain showers, the rest of the day didn't turn out too bad for garage saling.

Slim PS2 with hookups, DualShock, and Outrun 2006 Coast to Coast (no manual) for $10. The guy said make an offer so I just randomly said $10 thinking he would say "oh no that's not nearly enough", but amazingly he accepted. All I could think was "damn, should have said $5"

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
    LEGO Racers
    Prince of Persia: Warrior Within
    Sonic Mega Collection
    Aquaman
    Starfox Adventures
All CIB and in excellent shape, paid $20 for them all. They had some PS2 games too, but they were beat up pretty badly, the kid must have like the PS2 more than the GC.

And in non-gaming finds, I got this stuff.

All in all 75 .50 caliber muzzleloader bullets and a nice blaze orange sweatshirt (not pictured) for $10. Only the bullets on the left are nearly exactly what I use when I hunt, the others will be for target practice. I was really excited when I saw the sweatshirt because it was marked $0.75 and fit me perfectly, and it was the first thing on a rack of nice hunting clothing. Unfortunately, it was the only thing on the rack priced cheaply.

Geez, after looking at NES_Rules' bullet score, I know who not to screw with here...

Anyways, I got a package in the mail yesterday with copies of Guilty Gear X (Japanese Dreamcast) and Street Fighter Zero 2 (Japanese Saturn) that were mint and complete, except for the spinecards from a CAG trade, but oh well...

On Sunday, I picked up the last new copy of Harvey Birdman (PS2) from Circuit City for $8.96.

Then, today I traded in a few games and got the following GameCube games at Gamestop:
    Die Hard (complete) - $4.49
    Rocky (complete) - $4.49
    Starsky & Hutch (complete) - $1.79

When I leaned forward while the employee was getting the Cube games out, I noticed he had a sealed copy of the GS exclusive Resident Evil 10th Anniversary pack that includes the Player's Choice versions of RE remake, RE Zero and RE 4. Even though they sold it as used, it hasn't been gutted, so I jumped on that one even though I already own each of the games separately. Apparently, these aren't even available new or used within 100 miles of here...
Currently catching up on PSN, WiiWare, Wii U E-Shop and Xbox Live Arcade exclusives I missed.

Hey, what do you know, I'm not dead. For those who keep track I haven't posted much at all over the past couple weeks as I'm in the process of moving back from whence I came - San Jose. Relocating from the central valley back to Silicon Valley permanently has been a time consuming process so my spare time has been reduced even more than usual. (yes, I know I have a stockpile of PM's, I'll get to them Thursday) Well I'm spending my last week here, sleeping on the floor and filling the final obligations to my 9-to-5 (or that's 2-to-11) while nearly all my posessions are at my apartment two hours away. This Tuesday brought me my final trip to the local flea market. Granted I'm sure I'll return here and there again when visiting family but after that point I'll no longer be a weekly local. No need to get choked up though, I had a good feeling about today and was looking forward to my last regular trek out.

To kick things off Cy had an unusual assortment of stuff. Next to no electronics except for ancient stereo receivers. In a box there were a bunch of boxed Lego sets - most of it that Bionicle crap - but along with those there was a boxed Lego Star Wars snowspeeder. It was assembled in the box along with some other parts so I figured I'd try my luck - he wanted $1.00. When I got home I discovered that the set was about 98% assembled but every last remaining part was in fact in the box - even Luke's lightsaber. The box was pretty ratty so I tossed it but everything else is there: the assembly book, the snowspeeder, satellite dish, Luke, Dak and a Rebel soldier. There were random Bionicle parts in there too I tossed but I did keep another minifig that was in there - Anakin Skywalker perhaps?

Since I decided to get back into N64 stuff (granted there are very few games on the platform I'm after) I've been looking for a Super Pad 64 / Mako Pad as it was my favorite controller for the system. In my opinion it should have been the stock controller design. However all the sellers that used to have them disappeared and my closest brush was a PC Mako Pad a few weeks ago. That changed today as I came upon a lot of game systems. There was a young girl at the spot, watching the items for her father. When he returned she told him that he should have told her prices, to which he replied "you didn't sell anything did you?", to which she replied "no, but you had a lot of people leave because I didn't know prices." During this conversation I spotted a Super Pad 64 Plus in a box of N64 stuff. I asked him how much and he wanted $8.00 - I offered $5.00. He declined, saying I was breaking up his system bundle. I pointed out there were four other controllers in the box (crappy third party) so the bundle was in tact, so he grabbed one of those controllers and said that one was $5.00 but he wanted $8.00 for the one I had. I told him no thanks and put it down which lead him $7.00 - I offered $5.00 again as I was walking away. "$6.00!!" I declined again, walking off, telling him he'll never sell anything at this flea market like that. Once I was about two spots over I hear "Okay, $5.00, $5.00!!" Then as I pay he makes a comment how I drive a hard bargain - of course, it's a flea market - and one that's gone downhill rapidly over the past year. Do you want to sell your stuff or haul it back and forth, seriously?

Next was a large lot that takes up four spaces on two rows. Now and then I find decent stuff there but the prices are totally random. V.Smile Pocket last year? $1.00. Crappy travel radio? $10.00. Again, random. Today I found a pair of dogbone NES controllers wrapped up together. Before everyone asks - no, there was no system... if it was there it was long gone but I doubt that. $4.00 for the pair, great price. Funny thing though, one of them has some bite marks on one side on the top and bottom. Seems it may have actually been used as a dog bone at one point. They still need to be disassembled and fully cleaned.

    N64 - Super Pad 64 Plus ($5.00)
    NES - Dogbone Controller ($2.00)
    NES - Dogbone Controller ($2.00)

Next a junk reseller that used to run a low cost operation, come across great stuff, and make a bundle dumping it cheaply. He's upgraded in the past few months and his items have suffered - he just never pulls in the stuff like he used to. Today was different. There was a box of game stuffs, a loose Master System, loose Genesis 1, bunch of complete SMS games, and some booklets. I picked out what I wanted, leaving the stuff I already have behind - except for the SMS. He wanted $5.00 for what I picked out - about time he had something good. Yeah, I know Great Golf sucks but again it was the only game he had in there that I didn't have - and since I just moved the last thing I need are more duplicates taking up space. The Genesis Power Tips Book is pretty cool, it's like The Official Nintendo Player's Guide but for Genesis games.

GEN - Official Sega Genesis Power Tips Book
GEN - Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (booklet only)
NES - Dr. Mario (booklet only)
NES - Super Mario Bros. 3 (booklet only)
SMS - Great Golf (no booklet)
    SMS - System (loose)

Lastly up to Shorty, the one seller I'm going to miss more than any other. I've increased my NES archive by about 1/3rd just because of the past couple years buying games from him. Not to mention my entire 3DO library came from his inventory, my chance to get back into N64, and my prized Game Boy copy of the Japan only Lunar Lander. He didn't bring out his NES games this week but instead had two trays of Sega Master System games - the leftovers as he put it, $1.00 each for me. I picked out nine, all games I didn't have that I figured I'd enjoy. Looking over his loose N64 games that change every week or so I spotted a copy of F-Zero X, one of those few N64 games I wanted that I mentioned at the top of this post. He said $11.00 for all of it, great deal as always. Pro Wrestling had a screwed up box but I tossed it as I have an empty box from two weeks prior. Monopoly actually has the original sales receipt in the case.

    N64 - F-Zero X (loose) ($2.00)
    SMS - F-16 Fighting Falcon (complete) ($1.00)
SMS - Global Defense (complete) ($1.00)
SMS - Monopoly (complete, early "Mono Poly" version) ($1.00)
SMS - Pro Wrestling (complete) ($1.00)
SMS - Reggie Jackson Baseball (no box) ($1.00)
SMS - Rescue Mission (complete) ($1.00)
    SMS - Shanghai (complete) ($1.00)
    SMS - SpellCaster (loose) ($1.00)
SMS - Vigilante (no box) ($1.00)

Now here's where things got interesting. As I'm walking away he says "see you next week" to which I tell him no, I'm moving and won't be out any more. He asked where to and I told him San Jose. Then he tells me that's where he's based and he's out at the big San Jose Flea Market on the weekends, gives me a business card and tells me where his stall is located. That's where his inventory has been all along, he can only bring out so much in his small car each week. Now I have a direct connection to all his wares. That also means I won't have to deal with that bastard that cases his area early every week so he can buy everything just to try to pay with shitty trades (that the seller doesn't want to take, but he's a nice guy so he usually does) or bring stuff back the next week. It's like me damming the river further upstream. So I told him I'll probably see him in a couple weeks, which capped off a great day at the flea market.

Now that I'm leaving I guess I can reveal outright where the flea market nearly all my finds have come from over the past few years is located. I've been asked many times but never answered directly - not out of fear of competition but that the flea market here is really random concering amazing stuff week after week just to be hit with total crap for months after. I know there are a few other fourm members, a couple that post here all the time, that are local to it but probably rarely head out. Anyway, the Turlock Sales Yard be my former local flea market.

That's right, the crappy Turlock flea market is where I've picked up a complete JVC X'Eye for $5.00 (over the course of two years), prototype NES cartridges for free (nothing spectacular), a boxed and complete Genesis HeartBeat Personal Trainer / Outback Joey for $25.00 (that's an R10), a $700.00 LGB garden railway train set for $20.00 (Christmas 1995, blue version), TurboGrafx-16 lot with a dozen games for $5.00, so many games and systems for dirt cheap prices... yeah, at that crappy flea market over on East Avenue. Burn... But look on the bright side, of the people that really dig heavy out there - the one that buys it all for himself is gone (me), only the two eBay vultures remain and both of them have cash limits that bite them in the ass more than one would think.

Again, I'll get to those PM's soon and at the end of this week expect me to drop off for a couple weeks until I get settled.

    Got a 2600 today. 18/6

Everything's in good condition, the system especially. The box is great for it's age too. It does not have the 27 game cart that is featured on the box (but has the 2 paddles/ joysticks), but I got 4 games with it & their instructions. They are Qbert, Pole Position, Crystal Castles & Dark Chambers. The leaflets include the "How to use your Atari...", the service contract & & card advertising Parker Video Games Club. Interestingly I got 9 Atari VCS Owners Club Bulletin's that are like mini news magazines talking about Atari. I think you had to send off for them. £30

Some N64 titles you can see top right include Superman (mint, includes poster), the Scooby Doo title (great condition), SCARS(great condition) & two copies of Armourines - Both of the boxes are in-tact, they don't have the pull out cardboard holder, but ones in squished a bit! The other's in good condition, both have their plastic cover funnily enough. Total £22.
    Chet: It's futuristic, but that's a crate.
