Default ~X360~ moving stuff from 20gb hdd to 120gb with stuff already on it

hey, so I have now two hard drives (20gb and 120gb respectively), both contain lots of bought content off marketplace(20gb has every dlc for rockband and few arcade games and 120gb has lots of other arcade games), both have separate gamertags and both are on different 360's(both are mine).
I want to move stuff from 20gb to 120gb without erasing content on 120gb.
I know about update that is coming this month(drm related) that should allow for that but my question is can I do that right now?
I am in possession of hdd transfer kit and memory card.
would like to have both gamertags stored on my 120gb 360 permanently(with all its pre-purchased content).
    thanks.

i'm no expert (only on my 1st 360), but i'd say you'd probably have to recover the gamertag you used on the 20gb onto the 120gb, then re-download all your dlc to the 120gb. i don't wanna know how long all that rock band dlc will take to download though.

alternately, i guess you could transfer the contents of the 20gb to the 120gb, then recover the gamertag that was on it and re-download all the dlc for that tag.

recover whichever one has less data, i guess.

and afaik, the drm update won't allow you to consolidate content from multiple gamertags, only allow you to have full offline access to xbla games and movies on an xbox that you didn't originally purchase said content on.

If you want to use the transfer cable to get the 20 gig content on to the 120 gig hd, it will erase whatever content you have on the 120 gig hd.

I think Junk has it right, you'll have to recover one of the gamertags and re-download everything. If you have a memory card I suppose you could transfer the stuff manually, but that would be a pain and would probably take more time in the end.

Also, I am impressed and jealous that you have all of the Rock Band dlc. How much money did that take?

I thought about recovering my gamertag on my 120gb 360(going through the download history log), but questions rises...
what will happen with all my saves from 20gb then(can I transfer them or they are tied to my 20gb gamertag)?
I would like all my rockband scores - everything the way it was on 120gb, I won't need 20gb anymore.
and once I recover my 20gb gamertag on 120gb 360, I will have both to choose with no problems?
yeah, rockband is fantastic, dlc up to date is roughly $200 give or take...but it's sooo worth it ^^

Could you get a memory card, and put the saves on that?

Some saves are locked to the console *cough*Team Ninja*cough* but that's not too common.

If you want to be able to use your gamertag on either console, store it on the memory card and then download all your content from each console to the other. You can store both of your tags on the mem card.

no, I want to transfer my gamertag to the 120gb console and leave it there with my other profile permanently.
I would like to have everything on console, not memory card.
appreciate all the input guys ^^

Then just move the gamertag to a memory card then move it from the memory card to the other hdd.
