The tool can only be used once every twelve months.

For people that have refurbished consoles (which I would think is most people interested in this topic), you don't even have to click on the link. Simply start your 360 and do the following:

1.) Go to "Account Management".
2.) Go to "Download History".
3.) For all full versions of XBLA games (and DLC) that you own, click on the "Download Again" button.

It's a bit tedious, but it works. I also tested it with my wife's account (on the same 360). She can now play full versions of all the XBLA games I bought. She hasn't been able to play most of these since my first 360 went down. This is exactly what we've been waiting for.

I am not too happy about the once per 12 month thing. You know, considering my brand new Elite took all of 8 months to RRoD and all.

And this is going to take for ever. I own something like 80 XBLA games and pretty much all the GH and RB music packs. But great timing, as "Max" tells me my console has shipped back to me.

Wow, I'm stunned they finally got someone to take a couple of minutes to address this issue. This was one of two reasons I sold off my sizeable 360 collection on DP last year (the other reason was my third RRoD).

It's an unbelievably poor effort by Microsoft to obviously have been aware of the issue but have taken this long to fix it. They would have retained at least this one customer had they done it in a more reasonable amount of time, and Nintendo never would have sold me a Wii (which has DRM issues of its own).

Nice for current 360 owners to have a little remedy when their console is replaced every 12 months, though.

He was one poster that just shocked me that he stayed around, I had alot of war of words with him and I still have nothing good to say about him but It's just nice to see that he's finally gone.
