I will vouch for that, on the last update (before 2.40 that is) I kept on getting dropped, I then decided to download the update via intrawebs and installed it via memory card. That's also how I got my MP3s on my system, it really is a lifesaver.

PS3's did this all along, the PS3 always supported USB card readers that let owners of PS3 models without this functionality built in to use a standard card reader from a PC plugged in via USB.

Ugly. Wouldn't put it anywhere near my PS3.

My HP printer has a multi-card reader built in. I could stream photos to the PS3 from the Mac, so it's really unneeded.

I got a little accessory from Office Depot for like 5 bucks that you can stick a SD card into to make it like a USB memory stick. It's been pretty handy for both the PS3 and Wii.

Well, although it seems to be tailored to the PS3's form, you can use any of a plethora of card readers on the device. I have used many...from Sandisk to cheapie readers that came with DS backup carts. They all worked...
