Default Need recommendations for Famicom and Super Famicom games

Ive got a retro duo on they way and it says it will play these. Can anyone give me some recommendations of games that would be easy to play since I only understand english. I dont mind looking up some walk throughs on youtube if neccessary. I would like to pick up a few off Ebay or somewhere like that after the retro duo arrives. I know this has been asked before but thought this post might bring out some good suggestions. Thanks

Crisis Force is a very good top notch SHMUP. Has some great scrolling. And also Gradius 2. Both are Famicom games. And neither of these games were released outside of Japan.

As always, I'd really recommend :
    Flying Hero
    Jaki Crush
    Choujikuu Yousai Macross
    Marchen Adventure Cotton 100%
    Pop'n TwinBee
    Umiharakawase
    Wonder Project J

To only name a few. Feel free to visit the Super Famicom section of my site, I have nearly 130 games tested there. Steve's RVG Fanatic is also a great place to visit.

Thanks Ikermel for the promotion. Yes, I dare humbly say between my site and yours, we have got many people covered as far as SFC games go. On my site I have an "obscure SFC" section that's entirely devoted to... surprise surprise, lesser known JP SNES games. My favorite of the lot is definitely DoReMi Fantasy, which I would rank right up there with any of the world-class SNES platformers. I enjoyed it THAT much.

Unfortunately, it can be hard to track down, and often goes for a pretty penny. Good news is, it did receive a VC release a while back.

But you know me... nothing beats having the real thing

Thanks for the replies. I won a lot of 10 SFC games last night off Ebay so I will have something to try out in a few days.

The Retro Duo will not play Famicom games. You will need an additional Famicom to NES converter to play those games.

And many thanks to Steven and Ikermel. I enjoyed your websites and they helped a lot for me to decide my first batches of SFC games to look for, back when I first got into SFC.

    Here's my Famicom fun list...

Joy Mecha Fight (great fighting game with a bit of a megaman theme of sorts, highly recommended)

Ike! Ike! Nekketsu Hockey-bu (like Super Dodgeball? Well, Kunio-kun and the gang are in more games for the famicom, like this hockey game. Also olympics and basketball as well...)

and if you get a disk system, try Zelda and Mario 2... you won't look back!

Holy crap. It's been a while.

    Those games sound awfully familiar!

Oh, I reccommend getting a Power Joy 008 cart, it has many nice games on it, including a fun mario bros. hack called Pandamar.

As for SFC, Flying Hero is one of my favorite games.

    Few of my recommendations:

Splatterhouse Wanpaku Graffiti (contains excellent parodies of various movie classics!)
Kero Kero Keroppi (Fun puzzle game)
Hello Kitty Volleyball (Hello Kitty Volleyball! Fun and playable!)
Don Doko Don (Bubble Bobble style of game, also sequel available)
Ike! Ike! Nekketsu Hockey-bu (Fun ice-hockey/fighting game)
Penquin Wars (Air hockey style game)

At least I have all of those and like them all! And all are playable without knowledge of japanese.
