Lots of vareity in there. That Dylan song is a strange choice though.

I think it's a good list. I'm happy with the number and the variety of the songs, now I just need to convince myself that I don't need that new drum set.

    Steely Dan = instant win.

I'm surprised they haven't been picked for a guitar game yet. "Reelin' In The Years" is another song that had a great guitar solo (not to mention "Aja"'s drum parts).

"Aqualung" is another great choice. It's about time some of these games gave progressive rock a nod.

God, I wish they'da picked My Old School for Steely Dan instead of Bodi and Live Wire for the AC/DC song. I will be looking forward to Chop Suey, Today, Battery and American Woman. It must be a good assortment because there sure is a lotta shit in there I don;t give a damn for ...

    HOLY SHIT, THE MUFFS??!!

One of my all-time favorite rock acts, and one of the few bands that I built a "hang out backstage" with relationship in the mid-90's.

    http://www.the-muffs.com/

Kind of strange that Harmonix went with the Kim Wilde cover of Kids in America, but I suppose that the Clueless soundtrack (which they recorded that for) sold more than any of their studio albums. (And Harmonix probably got a deal on that soundtrack as I see that The Mighty Mighty Bosstones' Rock Band 2 debut is off of that alubm as well.)

In any case, I'm going to write Kim, Ronnie and Roy an email and congratulate them on being an official part of the Rock Band movement.

Finally a Modest Mouse song. I just hope that it doesn't make them become outragously popular. That would suck.

Good to see Bang Camaro and Rage Against the Machine.

Man, the majority of those songs have me scratching my head.

If I play a instrument-based game, I sure as hell don't want to play Alanis Morissette.

Wait ... didn't "Float On" and the summer of 1996 already do that??

Everlong is on the list?! Nice! That's a song I've been dying to play on Guitar Hero and Rock Band. The Setlist is great, I was surprised to see L7 on there and it would've been even cooler to see 7 Year Bitch on there, but maybe they'll be added via dlc.

This tracklist, along with discless compatability with RB and full integration within RB2 for RB1, RB2, and DLC content, AND the $299 Drum Kit means that Guitar Hero: World Tour just became a pass to me.

The music creation features sound promising, but they also sound forced and half-thought through. I'm going to wait for Rock Band's take on music creation in the next iteration and instead enjoy the 500 songs that will be available in September for the Rock Band platform.

Sorry, I thought Ben Lee did it first!

    Apparently he was covering them.

Despite both of their moderate populatiry, I'm not a huge fan of either, so it was an honest mistake.

Oh man, Dream Theater, and not Pull Me Under. I like Pull Me Under, but they get extra points for using one of DT's other really cool songs.

I don't think Freezepop is ever mentioned in the "main track listing" for any guitar game that Harmonix has worked on. They're always in the bonus tracks.

Also, fun fact, they don't make ANY royalties off of the Guitar Hero and Rock Band games that they're in due to the fact that The Duke of Pannekoeken works for Harmonix!

For every Dream Theater and Motorhead they have to put in a Linkin Park and Alanis. Why can't they all be good songs!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Oh well. I hated Rock Band's set list before I actually played the game (I like most of it now, though there are a lot of stinkers) but this one, how the hell can anyone enjoy rocking out to Linkin Park and Alanis?!?!

Dear Harmonix, please add "Hoist that Rag" by Tom Waits. Thanks.

They aren't listed in the Bonus tracks though.

They may not directly be making money from RB/GH sales, but the exposure it has gotten them is insane and well worth it. Even when Frequency and Amplitude were around, very few people knew of them. Now even my cousins, my 16 year old sister and all of her friends know who they are, and none of them are into video games.

Another fun fact, I'm probably their biggest fan on DP.
