Wow, thanks for making these available online. I remember reading the column monthly in Tips & Tricks and always enjoying it.
The article about rare SNES games is what made me start collecting games. And for that, I thank you.
I remember reading thse and loving them this was before I had a job and could buy anything in the articles really haha
Hey there's my ol' Room of Doom (Feb 04)! Boy that takes me back. I did have 2 issues of that month. I need to clarify the only things that came from a dumpster were the TV & stand (both since gotten rid of) under the Darth Vader pic, & even then they were left beside it- I didnt have to go diving! I did pay only $4 for the SNES & still works to this day.
It's all different now. Still in the same room/corner but lots of the games are gone . I use an IKEA Magicker TV stand, 6' long x 3' deep x 3' tall. It has several shelves for all my systems. It takes up the whole wall under the Darth Vader pic & holds 2 27" Tvs.

The August 2003 issue is what I picked up, Almost 5 years ago. I didn't subscribe for about another year, But I enjoyed what I read and even collected video games because of the issue. Thanks!
I am glad this is archived now. The Jan 04 article has a pic of my game collection, back when I was in a cramped apartment. It is hard to believe that my collection has skyrocketed since then. On a side note I totally agree that these collector tips are quite usefull and timeless. Joe thanks for doing this.

I remember picking up the (what I believe to be) first issue with a Collector's Closet feature in it, and it got me started on collecting. It inspired me to restart my Genesis collection, and I haven't stopped since.
Print these out and make them available at next years CGE in magazine form. Just dreaming....

The memories. Ever think of printing them out like a booklet for customers to flip through in the store? Kinda like a "DP Joe recommends..."
