You can order star ocean japanese for around $20 amercian. While it is possible with a SFA2 cart, it would be a pain in the ass.

Star Ocean has 16 bit roms, just like kogami stated before, so you only need one m27c322 to replace rom 1.

I've asked this before, but I don't remember where and never got a definitive answer. If a game would need 4x8mbit could you instead use 1x32mbit and avoid wiring up 4 chips.

I've seen eproms (27C322) on the cheap at ebay, you can get 2 of them for as low as 5 bucks sometimes,

*EDIT: The following link seems to have the cheapest on ebay. http://stores.ebay.com/IC-China

You don't need the original Star Ocean cart to make the english translation. It only makes it easier to build one. If you use the 96mbit version of Star Ocean, you can build it using a standard hirom cart with sram. I've built it myself so I know it works. It's described somewhere on nesdev if you want to start the endeavor.

This has been answered several times already. The short answer is no. They are 16-bit wide eproms while the standard repro tutorials call for an 8-bit wide eprom. If you devise a way to convert a 16-bit bus to an 8-bit bus, then yes, you can use a 27c322.

Spending 20 dollars seemed like good advice to give vs having him start that endeavor instead...

He asked a question and I answered. Also, I'd rather see a sports common getting sacked rather than an uncommon cart with special chip.

Personally I prefer to take the cartridge original (Star Ocean JPN)
There is just an eprom to put thus easier for the assembly

Which site do you guys think is the best route to get the zelda bs cart? I tried snesreproductions and didn/t get a answer back heh.

Oh heres my personal testimonial on pooties work from a Star ocean cart I got from him a while back.

All It really took to get it was a few emails , sending in Super Racing FX and a original japanese Star Ocean cart.

    Default Questions

First off, love this thread - I've spent the last hour or so reading every response :-p.

I'm very interested in doing repros and making custom manuals/boxes, so I wondered if anyone could give more information about these procedures, especially printing and making manuals/boxes.

Also, I don't know how to solder - can someone recommend a soldering iron that's a good value, and guides as to how to learn to do this? (I need to replace an SNES pin, so this would be useful!)

Thanks, and keep up the good work - I LOVE looking at these repros, they're amazing.

can anyone repro Super Mario World NES (Hong Kong) pirate cart?

or Super Mario World Genesis (Taiwan) pirate cart?

sonic the hedgehog 4 SNES pirate cart

super donkey kong 2 NES pirate cart

nesreproductions and gamereproductions don't have these, and can't do these in most cases because of custom mappers.

Whoa whoa, hold on there. Fifa 97, sure. NBA Action 94, sure. Light Crusader... ok, the game is a bit rubbish, so why not? But Landstalker and Soleil?! Especially Soleil as there don't seem to be too many copies of that floating around. Don't do it!

i completley understand your point of view...

    don't worrie about that. ^_^

    thx Kog for the list...
looking at the Global Gladiators pcb i suppose there's no problem with cic ciphs and stuffs..
so if i choose i Japanese hacked rom (like monster world iv in this case) .. it will work even if the donor cart is pal or usa.. (cause i have a japanese megadrive)

ps: now that i have this cart open (mmm i little destroyed the case to pop out the pcb ).. what's a nice repro i could do from it?
