Default My Super Famicom is here!

I just got this in the mail today from eBay, it was about $60 with $40 shipping. Everything is in superb condition, the only problem was it came with S-Video which I do not have on any of my TV's. Anywho it didn't stop me sice I had some AV cables from my SNES Jr. lying around and I just used those.

    On to the Pics!

And this was all the freakin' newspaper the seller wrapped it in. Although it probably was for the best!

P.S. Sorry if the pictures are crap. It was morning and I had to rush to get to work. On top of that I really don't know how to use this new camera well. Maybe I'll update them with better ones later.

    Congrats, man.

I actually just used the "clip-n-snip" method to mod my SNES to play SFC games, which is so much LESS cool

I don't know which I like better, the Super Nintendo design or the sleek Super Famicom design. The more colorful control buttons are nice, but I always liked the grey/purple SNES style too.

Personally, I would rather the toploader NES have looked like the Super Famicom than that red and white mess that it is.

Congrats on the find, especially in such a great condition! I am envious!

Hmm... Wonder why Nintendo chose to make a different looking SNES for USA, and the same design for Japan and Europe...

Who knows, why did they make the Virtual Boy suck, 3 rehashes of GBAs and etc.?

While I thought the system design was nice for the European and Japanese release, I thought our carts were better if only for the label being able to be read from not just the face but the top as well.

Congrats on the system. Looks nice atleast.

WUT? This is a Japanese system not an American system.

I'm pretty sure this topic prompted him to look for an American Super Famicom (SNES) and that's what he's talking about. Of course I could be wrong too.

Oh ok, I kinda got confused when she referred to it as an American Super Famicom rather than a SNES. I'm sure the same can be said about people calling the Super Famicom a "Japanese SNES".

I do call the Super Famicom a "Japanese SNES" sometimes, but only ot explain to people what it is. Ninen time out of ten they have no idea what I'm talking about.

I remember reading that one of the reasons the Super Nintendo was designed the way it was for the USA was due to Nintendo Service Centers reporting people spilling beverages into the system. The idea was to remove any large flat areas so that USA consumers wouldn't set things atop it.

Also while nowhere near as colorful, the Super Nintendo controllers thankfully had the USA standard of longer controller cables.

Agreed on the ridiculously short wires on the controllers.
