    Default Quick question...(N64 related)

I was just wondering if Nintendo ever released games sleaves, or something else to protect N64 games, like they did for the NES, and SNES. Thanks.

I see. It kills me when seller's slap the word "rare" on everything, lol. Thanks.

those look like the ones i remember, but the ones i remember were kind of a translucent blue/green color...but yeah, it was a plastic snap case (big like a VHS) that suspended the cartridge in the middle...don't know if it helps

Yeah sorta, they were more like rental cases (looked like em) and they actually are a bit harder to find then most since they didn't actually come with games.

The best course of action is to find/buy/trade for the original boxes for your N64 games and keep them in there. That's what I've always tried to do (I've got 1 64 game not in original box). Keeps them looking nice and well protected.

ps - if anyone has a box for Starfox64 please let me know

yes thats true, I'm actually trying to do that with my genesis games. After I get boxes for the games I'm moving onto N64.

I wish I could buy a shitload of those old rental cases for Genesis/SNES/etc.

Anyone know a supplier? Blockbuster used to have these green SNES ones that were sweet.

StarFox 64 and Vigilante 8 are the only 64 games I have boxes for, haha. When I would get those new games I couldn't wait to play them so I'd just rip the box wide open, get the game out and throw the rest of it to the side and eventually in the trash. I really regret that now.

There are two types of official N64 game drawers, which slide out. They hold either 12 or 24 N64 or SNES games. Cartridges only though. To protect the boxes, you'd need one of those hard clear plastic shells that the games used were often secured in at retail stores. I think they were probably the property of the store, such as Toys R Us or CompUSA. They'd unlock them and give you the N64 box. N64 cartridges are right up there with Atari 5200 , Intellivision, and Sega 32X for worst ever, because they did not have a top label. That makes picking games out of the drawers very annoying. However, since the N64 paper boxes were some of the shoddiest ever used, opening and closing them to get the games out just killed them. I use the game drawers, simply because the boxes drive me crazy.

    So I guess that's it?

Now what I'm curious about are the GBA and DS games...Boxing DS games is easy (and not nearly as easy for GBA; kind of awkward), but when they're loose games I picked up for cheap...where do they go?

You can buy rental store style clam-shell cases here:

    http://www.mediashelving.com/Merchan...egory_Code=MED

All of my N64 games (about 90) are complete and boxed, but I store the cartridges in these so when I want to play one I don't need to worry about damaging the original cardboard box.

Then once you've got your cases head over to here to print out the artwork inserts that will make them look like original boxes all nice and pretty on your shelves:
