On the eve of Rock Band 2 (well, for we PS3 Rock Band users, it's still about a month off) being released, Sony has finally stepped in and gotten Activision and Harmonix to play nice.
Unfortunately, this is likely a case of too-little-too-late for MOST people who WANTED to play multiplayer guitar on the system since it's launch. At THIS point they've likely gone out and purchased a 3rd party guitar, or a second official Rock Band guitar.
However, if they haven't ... the PS3 Guitar Hero 3 Les Paul is now fully functional on Rock Band.
This certainly can't HURT anything, and it's more than welcome - but again, way way too late to the game.
This probably has more to do with Sony ASSURING that the GH4 and Rock Band 2 instruments will be 100% compatible across games than anything.
Additionally, Harmonix tweaked the microphone action on the PS3, MOSTLY correcting the completely janked audio that has been present since about 4 updates back (the one that added the in-game music store).
