Any screens of a Ninja Gaiden sequel for Genesis?

IGN was blabbing about Ninja Gaiden arcade and mentioned that a sequel was planned for the Genesis but scrapped because it wasnt turning out too well. Anyone ever see any screens from this?

while it would have been cool, I can see why Sega would want to cancel it, why take away from thier own successful Shinobi games? If Gaiden bombed they would be afraid people would relate a bad ninja game to Sega.

Ha, I played the ROM way back in the late '90s I recall. It was OK. Definitely reminded me of Ninja Gaiden crossing Golden Axe. The visuals are quite GA-esque, especially the baddies.

I use to search for this game until someone told me it only got as far as a beta. Then I heard it was released but only in Japan. I think that it stayed stuck at the beta level though.

I played the ROM before. It was terrible and I guess the fact the game eventually locked up was no fluke.

It definitly wasn't released anywhere, its not totally complete and does have bugs - you can get stuck in places and have to turn off the console etc.
