I've got a question about computer hacking. I always figured that it was possible to solve the "puzzle" every time, but I tried an average hack last night probably 15 times and never got it. I'm 99% I was doing it right too. For example, "seeking" would return 0/8, but then every other word would have an "E" or "N". Is it NOT possible to solve every time?

i was able to hack every terminal i came across. the score you get after each successive try is counting not just correct letters, but also positioning. in your example, say the correct pw is 'binders'. though 'seeking' shares four letters with it, none are in the same position, so you'd get a 0/7 for it.

Hacking is pretty easy, provided you have a high enough security skill to access the computer.

If you guys don't have the game already(which I don't) Circuit City most likely has 90,000 copies since it's a fairly new release. Just wait until Circuit City goes down to 50% off to pick it up. Almost there for me. So far 30% off.
Everything in the above post is opinion unless stated otherwise.

Ha too bad Circuit City jacked everything up 50% before they started their liquidation...

Anyway, am I the only super scavenger? I seem to loot everything from coffee cups to burnt books. I end up cleaning out a place and it takes me 5 trips back to homebase.

    Gawd I wish I wasn't such a looter!

On my second character, i decided to be melee. I grab anything of decent value... but i also kill everyone i meet, so i never get to sell it. Once i got a place to live, i kill everrything i see. It sort of screws with the plotline though.

I also used glitches to do the Anchorage DLC at level 3 and took all of the weapons and armor out of the simulation so virtually nothing can hurt me.

Well I have scrounger perk, and I believe there is another one that instead of caps finds more ammo.

With those I really have unlimited ammo/caps. I think I'm level 16 with 8k caps like 3k AR ammo. I have containers full of weapon/armor stashes I could sell.

But even with all that I still don't feel complete if every piece of the old world doesn't get scavenged. I have a chest with over 500 burnt books I still need to unload! Thank God for Rivet City!

Damn I wish I was home playing and not at work!

Wow, and I thought I was "scrounging" by collecting and chilling Nuka Cola to sell.

Adding mods to the game really makes the game more enjoyable. I've added lightsaber, new suit and few other mods to make the game more interesting.

I'm a scavenger too. Anything and everything I try and grab at least one of and stash it in my Tenpenny Suite. I have three lawn gnomes (big, small, burned), too...haha

Well I hit level 20 and after clearing out three areas without getting any XP I quit. I haven't even found Vault 112 yet, I've got 5 bobbleheads, and have only found about 50 books. I've probably got about 50+ hours to go, and I can't see myself doing that without advancing my character. I guess I'll just have to wait for Broken Steel to come out.

Yeah I'm not looking forward to that point, I'm level 16 almost 17 and it seems like I have the entire game in front of me still.

I think I'll just use the achievments as justification to continue on. I'm wondering why they chose 20 as the cap, with so much time left in the game.

The 2nd official DLC expansion, "The Pitt" is available on XBL right now. Also added are 4 new achievements totalling 100 gamerpoints.

I've been waiting for the Pitt for ages. However, I'm somewhat concerned by the reports of horrendous bugs coming out of it.

It's been taken off XBL. According to Bethesda, the code got corrupted somehow and they're currently fixing it. I was planning on picking this up tonight. Oh well, it looks like more Halo Wars time for me.

I downloaded it first thing this morning when I got up. This is some of the stuff that I saw. (sorry about the poor picture quality)

    Holographic signs:

    A barricaded door on side:

That you can actually walk around and look through from the other side:

    More signs:

A dead body on a floating bed:

All of these were taken very early in the expansion when you cross a bridge to get to Pitt. When I booted it up to take these pics it did say an update was available so maybe they got it patched now.
We saved some guy's life. Killed some vicious murdering lichs and blew up something big. I'd call that a pretty good night.

I remember I had a similar glitch in Morrowind, but they were yellow exclamation points. I came up over a hill and there was a field of them. Talk about ruining immersion!
