Why is this in the video game category?
Does he think that gamers are thieves?
Why does his daughter have "sentimental value" to these?

From the "You Can't Eat Your Cake And Have It, Too" department:

    http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/sys/1500259698.html

Dude wants someone to "modd" his PS3 and 360 with bigger hard drives but to do it in such a way so that he won't be banned from PSN or Live. There were one million consoles banned from Live last month and yet this twit thinks by waving some unspecified amount of cash in the air he can find someone who knows how to prevent his console from being another statistic.

IM SERIOUS, AND PAY ING CASH-SO IF U KNOW HOW TO DO THIS STUFF" PLEASE CALL ME ASAP-ALSO I WILL CONSTANTLY BE GAMING ONLINE-AND I DONT WANT TO BE BANNED ON EITHER CONSEL, SO THE MODDED HARD DRIVES MUST WORK WITH XBOX LIVE AND PS3 NETWORK IN A SAFE, SECURE, CONSISTANT ,& RELIABLE OPERATING MANNOR .
    "IM SERIOUS!"

What? Spoiler due to size. Edit: no spoiler tags?

    [spoiler]
Thanks for looking at my Ad. I have up for sale my video game collection for Nintendo NES, Super Nintendo, Nintendo Game Boy, Sega Genesis and Sega Game Gear. All Games are Brand New Factory Sealed Original Versions(unless otherwise noted) and I have described next to each game the condition if there is damage or no vertical seam in plastic. I also am now including a separate list of my rarest/most expensive games that are valued at $ 100 dollars or more so you can get an idea of how great of a deal this is. I will put these lists on the top of the other video game lists. There will be included in this lot a combined total of 433 video games with 195 Super Nintendo Games, 82 Nintendo NES Games, 12 Nintendo Game Boy Games, 97 Sega Genesis Games and 48 Sega Game Gear Games all brand new factory sealed. I lost my job 4 months ago and am forced to sell off my entire video game and DVD collection. I have more games for other systems feel free to ask about those. I am looking to sell everything on this list for $10,000 or best offer. I am looking to sell to a reseller or collector who knows the values of these games like I do. I recently had this lot appraised with a total value of $ 30,000 dollars. I am willing to listen to offers as stated above, but am hopeful to get 10k for everything. If you have any questions or need to contact me for any reason my email address is: fanuvlakers@hotmail.com. you may also reach me by phone my number is 1 (714) 925-8544. Please leave me a message if I do not answer my phone so I can call you back as soon as possible. If you need pictures feel free to ask. I am also willing to meet in person to show you the games as well. I look forward to all replies! Thanks for looking and have a great rest of the day!

That list is outstanding. I've always wanted to spend $500 on Super Turrican 2.

Considering these are factory sealed games, some of the prices are pretty good. But he's not selling individually so... yeah.

I really don't find the appeal of collecting factory sealed games. It's not something I do intentionally.

Plus he has a ton of "i've never seen it go for less than $huge price"

Really, who cares dude? I can make up random numbers too.

I understand collecting sealed games of really awesome games that you really enjoy...but $500 for Super Turrican 2? I've never even heard of that game.

Some titles, he's insane. Other titles, he's being fair. Since there is a VGA (yech) graded title in there, it's likely he won't let anything go for less than market value or higher.

He has some games I want for the NES for $20 apiece, which is around what it would go for in mint complete condition (mostly). Ergo, I would open them and play them.

The good thing about these people who do sell common crap for outrageous prices is they also offer rare crap for lower then Ebay prices.

I remember when I picked up my complete mint Rob the Robot with Gyro *WARNING TO NOT PUT IN MOUTH* cards for $20 the lady also had many other things out in the open that were crazy expensive. She had a common 2600 for $150 /no games and a couple of toasters for $60. This was back when my dad was still alive so Gamestop hadn't even started trading/selling retro. She also had a lot of SMS and TG16 games I needed that were not over where the price point would be for uncommon games.

If you EVER find someone selling at a Flea market or other swap-meet type market who has a boxed NES, c64, or 2600 for Ebay prices make sure to ask if they have anything else.

Many of these people have had very rare carts in the past and have no idea of there real worth. Sure they will Sell SNES-FF3 for $$$ but if the games suck and the people didn't put them on Ebay five years ago you'll get a deal. Anyone selling a boxed 2600 for over $100 locally will probably have carts priced higher and will have far more uncommon stock longer.

    Question

    This is a good one:

    http://carbondale.craigslist.org/vgm/1489122521.html

Even if this saint bought every game on the list on the day each game released at full retail (which I highly doubt) I'm still scratching my head as to how he spent over 5 grand on this lot

well, i just had a craiglist experence not to long ago i need to vent about.

so i have an apple IIGS but i've been looking for a matching RGB GS monitor for ages. of course ebay has them time to time for ridiculas prices plus shipping (which is obviously quite a bit for a monitor). anyways i check craislist and find a listing for a complete apple IIGS system + monitor for $25. so i get all excited and email the guy about it and he promptly emails me back thats its still avalible. i immediatly send him back an emailing telling him clearly that i can pick it up today (it was monday) or because i live 2 hours away and work if today was not good could i pick it up thursday. well a day goes by, then anouther and no reply. so i email him again and again and finally he replies

"sorry but the computer is already sold, you stated you lived several hours away and did not know when you could pick it up so i sold it to someone else"

BULLSHIT!, i told the guy i could pick it up that very day i first emailed him and very clearly stated that if that wasn't ok i could pick it up in 3 days which i really don't think is that long a time. acually i've had craigslist people hold things 2 weeks for me with no problem. now thats not acually what i'm upset about since hes the sellar and i understand its his perogitive if hes willing to hold something even for a short period of time. anyways...thats not the kicker. guess what shows up a week later on craigslist a short distance away from where the origional was sold...coincidence?
