smork! That Yaroze is lovely! You gotta spill on how much it cost you...

    Its been a long long time since I posted any finds! So here goes;

Paid a little more than I wanted to for these, but most are collection fillers or needed the boxes/manuals for them

    Smork,

I know all Yaroze's are rare, but man PAL units seem to be the unit that everyone and their mothers seem to find with regularity, or are trying to sell.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

Picked up an Odyssey 2 system minus box and manual for $10 at a thrift shop today. Clean console, has the power adapter, rf cable, and both controllers. No games, though. She's also got a 2600 available at the house, she's supposed to call me with the list of games. We'll see where that goes.

Before I get to today's finds, I have to mention a Goodwill I made the mistake of checking out this evening. I spotted a stack of NES carts in the glass case - however, they were priced at $9.99. EACH. I kid you not. There are some stores around here that I expect to see a few $10 NES games at. Goodwill isn't one of them. Fortunately, I had most of them (Mario 1, 2, 3, and Solomon's Key - the only one I didn't have for the NES was Balloon Fight, but I do have the e-reader port).

Things were better at the other place I went to - a CD/Game Exchange:

    N64:
Turok: Dinosaur Hunter (cart only) - $2.50

    Game Boy:
Iron Man/X-O Manowar in Heavy Metal (cart only) - $3

On an amusing note (well, to me), Turok puts my N64 collection at 64 games.

spent a decent amount today, but I think it was worth it.

This first one was up on CL a long time ago. I never heard back, and then it was up again recently. Apparently the first deal fell through. All games were $4 each, or you could get his whole list for 150 (he dropped it to 125, though). Don't remember how many there were, but I opted to get these 16 as the others I already had or weren't worth re-selling, like Gradius III and Starfox. Had I known how perfect they are condition-wise, I would have gotten those and maybe more, but all I took with me was the $64. Probably all of these will go in my collection since they are so nice (they'd been stored at his parents house for years until recently), and mine will be sold.

Next was this box of stuff that I paid $80 for. He listed as SNES for 45 and N64 for 45, or both for 80. I didn't dicker, and took it for 80.

Oh, did I mention it came with these games?...

To those that live in areas that have CD/Game Exchange stores, they are definitely worth checking out. I never really see anyone mention them here, but I used to pick up cheap retro games there when I lived near one in college. Those not taking advantage of these stores are missing out.

And those first SNES are in amazing condition, good find on those! It's hard to find mint carts in the wild these days...

    Today's finds:

I almost didn't go to the flea market because it rained, but I went a bit later than usual and got these items:

    Namco Guncon 1 - $2
Konami Justifier PS1 set (two guns!) - $3
Windows 98 SE Upgrade complete in box - $5
Pretzel Pete (PC, new) - Six pesos and a nickel

About that Justifier PS1 set... these look exactly like the Genesis guns. The blue gun plugs into a controller port, while the pink gun is connected to the blue one with a phone cable. I thought this was the Genesis set until I saw the PS1 plug. I don't have the items with me, but does anyone know what the hell these are supposed to be?

As far as I knew, the only Justifier released in the US was that green thing that looks like a space gun.

Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2 - $4.99 Sealed.

When they rung it up at EBGames they told it was 34.99, now I know that if something says $4.99 on the box that they have to sell it at that, besides I used to work there, they couldn't fool me about that. The guy fought with me for a bit about it, talked to the old manager there and they gave it to me for $4.99.

I'm not sure if I'll actually open it, they also had Gunstar Heroes GBA there for the same price, tempted.

I'm not sure how it works in Canada, but in the US this varies state to state. I got into a lot of fights about priced items when I worked at a game store, although the store I worked at used standard price-gun stickers, not the named/barcoded stickers that gamestop uses.

Pretty much, from what I researched from NY (and someone please correct me if I'm wrong), the store isn't forced to sell anyone anything at a price that it's marked at- the only way this could happen is if it's advertised to draw someone in. Like if gamestop had a sign on their window that said "Summon Knight- ONLY $4.99!" and inside they were all $30, then that's not kosher. Price mistakes are usually honored because it's easier to get a customer out of your face than to try and shut them up.

Not a wonderful deal, actually, other than the condition. About $200, same as guide price. It's damn cool, though.

PapaStu, yeah, I would have preferred a Japanese one myself, but I wanted it, so... We know how that goes
