I mentioned I had a part 2 to my finds when I posted some pics the other day. I love the Yaroze, but this tops it, and is for sure my find for the year, probably any year.
Anyone who collects Japanese NeoGeo Pocket games knows how hard certain titles are to come by. A few months ago I dug up a loose Koi Koi Mahjong, and maybe 2 months ago I snagged a minty Soreike Hanafuda Dojo, The last of the 'really difficult' ones to find was Pachinko Hisshou Guide Pocket Parlor -- which I had never seen in my 3 years of collecting for Neo Pocket.
This Monday I stumbled into a game store in the middle of nowhere, Japan (more on that place and pics in my Local Game Stores thread in Import-Mania!). Way up on the wall was a bunch of NIB NeoGeo Pocket stuff -- including 6 NIB Pachinko Hisshou Guide Pocket Parlors! Naturally, I bought them all, and it's a sexy sight.
To put it in perspective for non-Neo collectors, it felt to me like walking into a store and seeing 6 NIB Stadium Events on the wall, cheap. (Not that these go for those prices, just the 'hard to find' factor).
It totally overshadows my other find of the same day, which was a fraking brilliant haul at a favorite HardOff. This lot - a loose 3DO FZ-1 (+ memory unit, minus controller), a loose Black/Red Twin Famicom (- AC Adapter), loose NeoGeo stick (original version), and AES KOF '94 -- was bought for the princely sum of ~$12.
I had to hurry up and grab this stuff, too -- there was another dude in there filling a basket with game stuff, so it was a bit of a race against time
Last part of my stuff is fairly normal, but nice for me -- three more Neo Pocket games, all NIB. All bought at the same store as the Pachinko find.
