A good friend of mine made this excellent megaman video, quite alot of attention to detail, I think many of you mega-heads will get a kick out of it.

That was good. Sound effects would have been nice, but it was well-animated. I'd like to know what software was used, since my process of animating in Gimp frame-by-frame isn't as nice.
Glad you liked it. I considered sound at one point, but any sound effects I could've recorded off the games would've had assorted music in the background. Maybe some day there'll be public sound libraries as extensive as the sprite libraries, but for now, I was out of luck.
As for the animation, I made it in Pixen for the Mac (frame by frame, which took a long time). It's kind of a buggy program, but it's still the best I found. Unfortunately, though, it gets really bogged down with animations more than, say, 40 frames long, so I had to animate the movie in a bunch of really tiny chunks and then assemble them in MPEG Streamclip. The nice part is both applications are free.
That was great, the ending got a huge laugh out of me. Other fave bits for me was Megaman rolling his eyes and Protoman beaming down, taking one shot, then shrugging his shoulders.
I hope you do go back someday and put sound in, it would make it even better. This site has a rip of the soundtrack CDs of the various MM NES games, and they all have a track dedicated to the SFX. You might be able to cull the sounds you need from here.

I approve. Props to the man.
Oh jeez, I'm an idiot, because I didn't realize until now that I just could've turned down the music in the sound options in the Mega Man Anniversary Collection. But this audio collection you linked me to is even better.
Now to figure out how to get the sounds for the MM9 weapons...
Hey guys, I posted a new version with some badly needed sound effects. I think it's much better now. Huge thanks to Josh Nickerson for the pointer to the sound library.

Wow! That's how I originally imagined it. Good stuff. Not sure about some of the musical choices, but still great.
Edit: I finished watching. The music in the second half was perfect. The first few tracks are just a little unfitting. Seriously though, this is some top-rate work. You probably could have had a chance at the MM9 contest over at Capcom Unity.

As predicted, it's even better! Kudos!
Wow, that was pretty awesome. Nicely done dude.
Holy crap. There was not a single thing about that which was not absolute winnage. Nice job, sire. ^_^
That's it! Next stop: The Junkyard. Population: You!

You rock dude. Props.

FAIL.
That was really well done. I had to watch it without sound but it was still very enjoyable. Thanks for sharing.
