Default I finally found something good at goodwill

I can't install or test them because I don't have a 3.5" or 5.25" drive but most of them still have manual/map/ect. Usually I go and find crappy VHS tapes and clothes.

Though its weird, like some guy went in and said "I wanna sell all my kickass old PC games" and got like a quarter each.

I still have yet to find anything worthwhile at Goodwill, and I go 2 or 3 times a week here, and occassionally go to the big city and hit 4 or 5 in one day. I've seen a Game Genie for Sega Genesis, assorted sports titles, and a Colecovision with about 10 games in the box (probably should have picked that up...couldn't have been more than $20).

Great find. I also rarely find anything good at goodwill. Except once, I found some awesome Genny games complete (ghostbusters, hyperstone heist, batman returns) and a mint SNES with no yellowing...this was from the same goodwill on the same day. Before and after this find I found nothing.

Man. That's a definite great find. I've only played Might and Magic Isles of Terra and the Ultima game on that list that you've found. Might and Magic Isles of Terra also has a SNES version but it's far inferior to the PC version.

My characters were so powerful on Isles of Terra and had a ton of great equipment and all the most powerful spells that I could kill enemies like the Hydras in a single hit with most characters. I had killed off almost all enemies in the game that there was rarely any enemies that I could come across. The only thing about Isles of Terra was that I couldn't really figure out most of the questions they asked so I couldn't go into specific dungeons. I didn't have the internet and ended up quitting the game because I couldn't find where to go and had literally every special skill like swimming for just about every character so I could literally just hold up and could end up swim across the ocean rather than taking the teleporters(so ended up going to all the islands I found and getting everything in those dungeons and killing off those monsters.)

I must be lucky because I've found several good games and systems at my local Goodwill. Off the top of my head theres:

    Sega Nomad
    Snes Mini
    Final Fantasy complete in box
    Sega Dreamcast Sports Bundle
Game Boy Lot of classic games
    Sega Saturn lot

And so on and so on.

That is one fantastic classic PC RPG find, that's for sure !!! It seems that some classic console gamers sometimes forget how good some of the 8 & 16 bit computers were when it came to RPG's & adventure games like the Might & Magic series, Ultima, Wizardry, Bard's Tale, etc. Congrats on a great score !!!

Goodwill is totally just luck of the draw. I've had some good finds there as well, but it is completely chance: was browsing the CDs one time and a worker reached in front of me to set a stack of PS1 games down. Among them was oddworld, and a couple other goodies. Then she did it again and there was FFVII and some other good stuff. Was checking out the bins of stuff needing to be shelved when they rolled out another cart w/ 2 nice SNESs and a bunch of games.

Best and most unlikely of all was my vectrex haul, which I doubt I'll ever top.

Good find on classic DOS games there. An older computer with a floppy drive should run around $3-15 depending on what's inside the case spec-wise. Normally drives can be found for a few bucks or less, so buy a few if you can find them cheap and get some diskettes to test before letting it grind those up. Even most modern motherboards have the connections for internal disk drives.

I have a good number of large box DOS games and they are nifty to own. Find a safe spot for them to be stored as although the disks will eventually go bad, the longer you can protect them the better. And be sure to back them up in archive files incase you need to write back due to corrupted memory on the disks.

Actually he got nothing each. Goodwill is a "charity" and pays absolutely nothing for all of their used merchandise. Great find though.

Yeah, for me, goodwill is always hit or miss. I have gotten a few sealed gba games from there, and a boxed cd-i, but most of the time they just have ps1 sports game (meh)

Goodwill really is hit or miss for me. I usually find Genesis sports games, and the occasional NES game. I also found a factory sealed Jedi Academy, but it was the PC version, natch.

Yah I bought them, but I collect DOS games when they are in their boxes and I don't have this one yet!
