Is there any difference between the PS3 and 360 versions? Any exclusives? I'd think the PS3 controller would be better suited for this game.

I can't wait to get this on both Xbox and PS3 but will have to wait to get it on PS3.

Does the ps version let you demo it?

This is a PSN purchase hands down. I can't imagine playing this with the 360's d-pad. Ick.

And that's all I ask for. Glad to see they left in Classic (i.e., Cheater) difficulty, but I think I'll be choosing Remix most of the time.
Well, I'm prospecting to get this when my cash flow flies on the uptake. It's a bit pricier than I'd like it to be, but I'm such an SF junkie that I MUST get this at some point.

It's rad.
If anyone wants to humiliate me on PSN, my user name is Geoffvdl. Toss me an invite.
I have yet to try online mode, but I hear that it utilizes the "GGPO" online fighting networking software that was designed specifically to eliminate lag in 2D online fighting games.
Otherwise, it's very very pretty/high def ... I wish they could have figured out a way to incorporate extra frames in the animation without changing the way the game played or the integrity of the game engine ... but that's not even really a complaint as it seems to be spot-on in the play control department.

I did a few rounds yesterday and only time I experienced slowdown was at the start of a fight, other than that my ass got kicked lag free. So yeah if anyone out there wants to go head to head, drop me a line on PSN (Young_Machete) and we can beat each other up.

I can understand it showing the multiplayer, but why ONLY local multiplayer, why is there no option to play against the computer or anything? None of my friends ever really want to play fighting games with me, so I would play online or single player, I'm sure i'm not the only one.
I played a few matches online on my lunch hour ... the only lag (slowdown actually) I experienced was in the opening second of the match (prior to the player having any real control over their fighter) ... the actual fighting was totally lag-free!
This is an amazing little version of SSFIITurbo.

Awesome game! I just wish it was available in retail so I can have a disc and box along with it.
Don't speak too soon.
While it's not quite the Mega Man 9 Nintendo Cartridge, there are promo materials for the game that come pretty close to being a game box!

Ok I finally got around to playing this on the PS3 and all I can say is "WTF did they do to my SFII?". The graphics are amazing and the sound is good, but the controls are horrid! I tried in vain for hours trying to pull off moves that would just not go, but the computer seemed to have no trouble (obviously). Eventually i figured out that if I did the move SLOWLY it would go off 80% of the time, but if you can't do the move quickly then it's no good. Maybe it's the old style PS3 controller I have, but I wore my fingers down to the bones trying to pull off moves but to no avail.
The difficulty seems to have been majorly beefed up in this version as well. While I was never a SF II master, I could usually beat the game on the standard difficulty with no continues. However this time I found myself losing to Guile in the first stage (isn't this one usually a gimmie on any difficulty?). It actually took me 20 minutes to beat him (the horrid controls mentioned above didn't help). It seems that the AI has been programmed for cheese. Guile sat there throwing Sonic Booms at me for half the round until I approached them, then he either did his Flash Kick or if I actually got close enough to him to hit him he threw me. That's another new thing in this version, the computer throws you like there's no tomorrow! The old AI wasn't nearly as cheesy unless you turned the difficulty up to 7 or 8.
Just to make sure I wasn't just rusty at the game, I fired up SF II Turbo on my SNES and make it to Sagat before dying (stupid hyper tiger knee). Maybe it's the poorer AI or just the better controller, but I had no trouble pulling off any of my moves and pummeling the enemy.
The new SF looks pretty, but the difficulty is definetly not for average players. I knew they 'balanced' the game out a bit, but they ruined it for me. Then again, maybe if I had a decent controller I'd do better. Either way, SF II HD is an exercise in frustration to me. I'll wait for MvC 2 on the 360...
Anyone else find the new difficulty obscene or is it just me?
