Default Game Gear screen cover replacement

My Game Gear's screen is scratched to hell. I was looking on Ebay and found plenty of replacement screens here.

I was wondering how to remove the old screen and how to apply the new one. Does the new screen have an adhesive backing that I peel away or do I use super glue or something? Any help would be appreciated!

I usually use a real thin blade to remove the old one. Game gears are easy to take apart so you can take the front off and push it out. I belive the new one has adhesive backing.

Yeah, like Daft Punk said the new screens have adhesive backing protected by some thin waxy paper when you get it. To get the old screen off, for most of my systems I've used an eyeglass flathead, although a blade might be better so long as you don't slip and dice up your hand.

Cool! I really apreciate the help.

Hopefully I'll have the new screen in the next few days and then I'll give it a shot.

I ordered this Game Gear lens replacement from ebay. It's easy to change, although I opened the unit, and unscrewed the board. I had a clear shot at the openings behind the old lens. You just push it out. Then stick the new one on. It's very clear, but again, this is a very soft, bendable material, compared to the hard plastic original lens. The seller is the only one on ebay, or anywhere else I can find, who has something like this. So I guess beggers can't be choosers? Almost all the Game Gears I come across have fairly scratched up lenses.
