Here is an idea for you:
http://www.swapmagic3.com/
This is a magic swap. It does a couple of thing:
+ Let you play CD-RW backup games for PS1
+ Let you play DVD-RW backup games for PS2
+ Let you play PAL/NTSC-J games for PS1 & PS2.
The major selling point is that you do not have to mod the hardware of your console in any way to use it. You enter the CD/DVD and boot up your console, shortly after a screen pop-up and tells you to enter the game you want to play. Then you do the swap, you have to take out the opening of your DVD driver, then they give you a plastic tool with your MagicSwap to safely get the tray open. You swap the DVDs and close the tray, and then you can play the game you wanted.
There are two cons to this solution:
- You will have to remove the DVD drive front end. It's not difficult to do, but the PS2 doesn't look as good as it could be without it.
- If you are jumping from game to game every 5 min you'll find it annoying to make the swap everytime. It's a very fast operation, under one minute for sure, but it's still another delay before you can play your game.
Hey I was just searching for the cheapest way to get imports to play on a PS2 and stumbled across this thread. With Free McBoot, what method do you guys recommend for installing it, whether it be with Action Replay or Code Breaker or something like that, or just going for a Swap Magic. I have both a slim and fat PS2 and I want to be able to play both PS2 and PS1 imports on it. Also, on a related note, when you import enable a systme, does it allow imports from all 3 regions or is it usually specific for Japan or Europe. If anyone could give me some feedback on a method that worked for them and maybe where I could find a good walkthrough on how to do it I would greatly appreciate it.
