Where to get a moded Xbox?

Ok, I'm ready to get an Xbox. I want to get a moded system though so I can play all of those great emulators I keep hearing about. Anyone know of a source (online or off) where I can pick one up thats already been moded? I don't want to do it myself and risk destroying the system. I plan on using Xbox Live also, so I'd like to try to get one that has one of those on/off swithches for the mod so the Microsoft servers cant detect that I'm using a hacked system. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Any websites to check out? Also, how well do the emulators run (especially MAME) and how do they compare to the ones for Dreamcast?

007 save buffer overflow trick? This is new to me! Any link to info on what this is about? I'd like to get Mame going on an X.

www.xboxhacker.net should have some info on it. Basically, it's a glitch in the save file, I'm not sure how to exploit it, but once you do, it lets you run unlicensed software, and the first thing you run is a BIOS flashing utility that rewrites the BIOS into a configuration that doesn't check for security keys. It basically allows you to do what a mod chip does, only with the original BIOS instead of a third party one soldered in it's place.

Obviously not so maybe you shouldn't be recommending it. I hear that it's friggin hard to do and NOT recommended as a good way to mod your xbox. x_x Especially when there are much simpler ways (like using a non-solder chip). Still though, it's amazing they found out how to do it that way

The no chip exploit is a tuff one and does require the opening of the Xbox and a solders to be done.

My advice. Get a chip. The X-Box is an easy mod compared to the PS2. It's easy to open, and most chips don't have much to solder.

That sucks. I was keeping up with the info via news updates from the people who are writing Linux SW and whatnot for the xbox, so I guess from their POV it was a simple process. Aside from that, I do reccomend having two xboxes each serving their purpose.
