Just wondering - does the Genesis/Mega Drive model 1's headphone socket output in stereo or mono?

Yep, headphone jack is stereo. That was a big marketing point in 1989, "The first console with full stereo sound" or somesuch. However, the audio output in the A/V jack is mono.
I actually have always really liked the headphone jack, as I never had a stereo TV or stereo receiver, and played games late at night, so stereo headphones were perfect. Now I have computer stereo speakers in the headphone jack. I think it's a cool feature, too bad the only console to do it.
