    Default PSP shortages?

Could just be my area, but I left Gamestop and Walmart today not being able to buy a PSP. I'm assuming it could be based on the holiday crunch, but still seems odd, as the DS is usually more of the hot commodity these days. I'm going to try some more stores on Thursday. Anyone else notice a shortage this season?

I've noticed no shortages... heck I've still seen more PSP-2000's than I have PSP-3000's in stores right now.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

I got a PSP for xmas (yes exchange gift early with my better half) I was told it was the last they had in-stock at Best Buy. I've noticed several Targets and other places we've been have been sold out of PSP's as well.

Definitely holiday related; I see at least 4 or 5 in each store I've visited in the past- but everything gets sold pretty quickly towards the holidays. There should be no shortage, wait a week or two to let the stock replenish.

My local Target doesn't even have a PSP section anymore. They still carry the cheaper games that they can put on the floor racks but they don't even have the glass case for it anymore. Can't blame them though.

Ya, I think at this point any perceived "shortage" is more the result of a small Christmas surge combined with very low shelf stock (due to most store's lack of interest in trying to support the PSP)... Our EBs around here have God of War and Madden 2000 packs still, and lots of 'em... Walmart is selling the Madden pack for $147 today for Boxing Day, trying to blow them out... Still, Resistance and Phantasy Star are coming over the next couple of months!!

It might be one of two things:

    A. People are finally discovering that the PSP doesn't suck. I played mine more than the DS over the holidays.

    B. People couldn't find a DS at the last minute and didn't want to show up on Christmas morning empty handed.
Currently catching up on PSN, WiiWare, Wii U E-Shop and Xbox Live Arcade exclusives I missed.

    Right on both occassions.

I had customers wanting PSP consoles as well as customes wanted DS and buying PSP as an alternative.

Problem is, those consoles will be returned today and tomorrow...massive return day on overall merchandise...

Every store by me has psp's instock. I even went to Target today, and they had 5 instock. I mostly saw the PSP 2000, hardly any of the "Limited Editions".
