Question Sega Genesis Model 2 AV and Power on the fritz

Picked it up at Goodwill a while back. It works, I've played on it before, but the AV and Power cables only work when I press down on them right where they plug in.

I took apart and looked at it, but, let's face it, I have no idea what I'm looking at in there.

any thoughts on how I could fix that?

this could be due to either worn out cords (had some snes power cords like that) or cracked solderjpints (happens sometimes on genesis 2s) you could try reflowing the solderjoints on those jacks and/or different cables.

Power jack on the system board needs resoldering. In my own experience, that's been the problem 100% of the time.

Yes, re-soldering will fix it and make it very much better.

yeah, I figured it was something like that, because the cords all work just fine. Well, except the av cable which broke on me a while back, but yeah.

I guess now I gotta look into getting it resoldered.
