Some 26 year old hick imbecile didn't get the toy airplane he wanted for Christmas, so he pulled his girlfriend's hair and threw her down a flight of stairs. Classy.

I didn't really like my Wii gift when I got it. It was a lemon, so I made some lemonade. The friend who bought it for me and I played some games on it, and we kind of reveled in it like watching a horrible movie.
Now I see I did it all wrong. I should have beat the crap out of him.
I wish I had known about that tactic when I got 2 sealed copies of megaman x4 for x-mas
I won't dispute that this guy is a douche, but the article makes it sound like they're a pretty quarrelsome couple to start with, and the police charged them both in this incident.
The article doesn't specify what kind of RC plane he wanted, but almost any RC plane is substantially more expensive than a Wii.
Single engine propeller driven planes cost several hundred dollars at the low end, and anything with a jet engine costs well over $10K.

According to another article, he was upset because his grandparents didn't get him a $1,000 RC plane (!) and then lost it over the Wii... Let's just say that if I were his grandparents, I don't think I'd want to ever give him a gift again.

Honestly it sounds like this would have happened no matter what she would have gotten him. Some people are just into drama and fighting, and yep they probably are still together.
