Personally I use 3GP, but I've heard nothing but good things about Video9.

Did you name them properly?
You don't have to name them the older way on the newer firmwares. You can name them whatever you want and put them under a "Video" folder on the root of your memory stick.
Definitely check out PSPVideo9. If you keep your PSP connected it will even move it over to the proper directory for you.

You people are so helpful. I am going to start using this.
I modded my silver PSP a year ago and love it but now it's acting funky and won't run emulators anymore. It's still got firmware 3.something on it so I'm going to put the newest one on it and hope that fixes the problem. I also hope to start running SNES and N64 games on it.
I also have a never-used black 2000 that I'm going to mod, too.

Thanks for indulging my gaming habit when I was young, Dad. You were the best. I miss you. ~David Barnes 1926-2007~
I totally recommend taking advantage of the inheirent PSX emulation by using popstation and converting your own PS1 games for use on your PSP.
Simply convert the CD to an iso, find some cool graphics for the icon and the background, run popstation, and voila - PS1 gaming on your PSP. It helps make up for the lack of PSP games for sure - I play Alundra on my PSP as much as I play Space Invaders Extreme these days.
