Even though I vowed to be done with this ridiculous "Closeout" at CC, I saw a commercial this morning that said all videogames/DVD's were going to be 60% off, so I might swing back by to see what's still left. It's funny that I'm more excited about going to my Target every Monday to see the new clearance stuff than this store closing sale.

I swung by one today. Only game things I was remotely interested in were GH3 for PS3 and DS Spore. Passed on GH3 (forgot what price was). Spore didn't have a price tag, so I had it scanned and it was 12 or 13 bucks, so I passed on that too.
I did pick up a couple seasons of SG1 in slim packs to replace the big set I have, and they were $16 each
I swung by today for the 60% off DVD/BR and I hit at just the right time apparently as stuff was just flying off the shelves. I snagged:

Mine is essentially empty - either they sold a ton over the last week or they just shipped it to other stores, but it's mostly fixtures and counters now.
Don't go there! Be prepared to do some stupid inpulse purchase because you won't find what you are looking for. I did grab Ocean's Thirteen for $12, that wasn't bad. I also have my eye on the Xbox 360 wireless adapters, waiting for them to drop to $40 and I will bite!
How much are they now? My store sold out of them when the sale was only 10% off.

Funny thing bought 3 games off ebay all sealed this weekend (Resistance 2, MLB 08 The Show, and Fall Out 3) all were Circuit City products. Had the little 59.99 price stickers still on them. Grr darn resellers must be the ones who flocked in there when everything was 30-40% off and went into a buying frenzy.
Went in today and almost everything is sold still save or gh3 bundles and some tv.

I was near the CC on 82nd this afternoon, and against my better judgement, I went in, assuming that I wouldn't be in the store longer than five minutes. I was right. There isn't a single video game left in the store (not that I was expecting to find anything beyond sports titles). The remaining DVDs, Blu-Rays, and CDs are 70% off, and the remaining ones had been moved to an endcap. There was nothing that stood out and some of the CDs are still overpriced.

Hell yeah. You could sell it for $80 on ebay to make a profit if you wanted. Me personally, I would keep it because I need one and thats a pretty damn good price.

The Consumerist reports that around 500 stores will be closed for good on March 8th because "sales are ahead of schedule." Considering how empty the store I visited yesterday was, it's believable.
yupp - definitely. I'd buy it at that price.
The store here in Lincoln closed Sunday, I stopped in on Saturday and the store was basically empty, all they had left for games was about 20 copies of Madden '07 for PS2, a Fifa 08 for the 360, and a couple copies of All Pro Football 2K8, so nothing spectacular.
My local store will be closing in six days. They didn't have much(no games at all) but I did pick up Code Name: The Cleaner on dvd for $3.00. Thats about the highest I'll ever pay for a dvd with no extras(it does have a single featurette but thats it). That will send a message to the production companies to stop being cheap/stingy with the extra features.

Wow, my local store is way different than it was when games were 40% off. Back then there was still a lot of good stuff, but when I went today, there wasn't a single game left. I wonder at what point all that merchandise moved. Oh well, there was probably nothing I won't be able to pick up at a later point for even less.
Yeah, we can't have barebones DVDs of Cedric the Entertainer movies! Buy it cheap instead of not at all, that'll learn 'em!
Picked up Fallout 3 Collector's Edition for $30. Diablo II Battle Chest for $20 (nice to have sealed). And a bunch of Blu Rays for $12 or so each (Kill Bill 1/2 and some others)
But yah, even at this point late in the game, Best Buy is CHEAPER on a lot of stuff!
Have to agree. Once they've sold them to a retailer what do they care? They made their money a long time ago
