Default Did anyone waste their time trying to make the Konami code work on Jackal?

I was sure it would work, it worked on other 2 player Konami games, why wouldnt it work on this one? I must have spent a good half hour trying to get it to work.

Don't know what made me think of that.

Well at least you didn't waste your time trying it on Double Dribble or Blades of Steel.

I used to try the code on every NES Konami game.

Wasn't there a game put out by another company that had a message "I Am Not Konami" come up when you tried putting in the code?

You can get a bunch of lives by pressing A and B at the same time when your partner dies, but you have to time it just right (I think...been a long time!). I never got it to work. Anyone have any luck with that? And I try the Konami code on all Konami games too.

That would be Cosmic Epsilon for the Famicom. On a side note, if you've never played it, find a way and give it a shot - especially if you're a fan of Space Harrier.

BTW here's a list of games that work with the Konami Code and what they do:

It doesn't work on Super C (Contra sequel), maybe the hardest NES game Konami ever made.

Wasn't the Sonic level select code a variation of the Konami Code?

    I think it's 3-D World Runner.

A couple of games must have done that then, several web pages list 3-D World Runner. I haven't tried it on a copy myself because I don't own the game. Could someone please try this out to confirm or disprove this?

I'm pretty sure I saw this also on Wikipedia, but it seems to have just been edited recently. It's still viewable on the internet archive, complete with the spelling mistake of "Konani". Someone just changed the name of the game(I just read it after this thread was made).

3-D World Runner (DOG, Nintendo Entertainment System)
Pausing the game and entering Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A will cause a message to come up saying "I AM NOT KONANI"

...or in the Dog-developed NES title 3-D World Runner, a message pops up that exclaims, “I AM NOT KONAMI.”

Pause the game. Enter the code, and the game will tell you, "I AM NOT KONAMI." This is one of the first silly uses of the code that didn't affect game play.

I swear it worked back in the day (for 30 lives,) but don't remember the specifics. Maybe you have to enter it on controller 2?

Great, know I'm gonna have to drag out an NES and find that cart, or it'll bug me to death.

I haven't got the extra lives trick in Jackal to work either.

I can beat the original Contra without the code.

Contra Hard Corps needs a code. I've only once gotten past the first stage. I hate the game due to it's extremely hard difficulty. It makes Ninja Gaiden 3 look like a cake walk.
Hmmm, I beat that game in a few hours...on NGIII I died on stage 7 every time! Never did beat NGIII.
