I was looking at the Genesis rarity list, and Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle is given a ranking of $20/R6.
Is this game really that rare? I always thought it was a common cart.

The PAL version, which you'll see in Australia, is pretty common.
It's the Genesis cart that's rated R6/$20
I see, so why is the Genesis version so rare? Don't Americans like Alex Kidd?
hmm thats odd, maybe im lucky, but thats one of the more common games I see out in the wild, especially at the flea for some reason.

Don't think I've EVER seen that one in the wild...

I've never encountered this game in my weekly game hunts. I had a single friend who owned it during high school. I loved this game, and could never get him to relinquish it. It's an awesome game, and I can see why its hard to come by.
I think the REAL rares Alex kidd games are from SMS (in USA)...maybe i´m wrong, but i think that...what´s your opinion?
AK in Shinobi World, AK Lost Stars, and AK in High Tech World are all fairly hard to come by Stateside.

From my experience, AK Shinobi is the only rare AK. Maybe I'm just lucky to have picked up AK in the EC for $5 CAN complete. :cig:
I've personally never thought of the game as rare, but then again I'm not much into American Genesis stuff. I guess it make sense though. A cutesy game about a magical prince was probably the last thing the average "OMFG THSE ALTERED BEAST GRAPHICS MAKES NES TEH SUCK" teenage Genesis newcomer was thinking about at the time.
