Default [SOLVED] House of the Dead import -- Will it work with my gun?

House of the Dead on Saturn is expensive for the US Release, but not so much for the Japanese. I have a Action Replay 4m Auto key thing, which I have successfully used on my import Christmas NiGHTS; thus, I know the software won't be a problem.

However, will it work with the US Gun peripheral? I would think they'd be the same, but I dunno. I actually realized (thanks to someone else's post today) what the other plug on my 3rd party PSX gun was for -- it's a Saturn plug. I, having never owned a Saturn until recently, didn't have a clue years ago.

So, in that case, will my 3rd party gun work? If not, will the US gun work? Will a Japanese saturn gun, if it's necessary to buy one, work on the US console for a Japan import of House of the Dead?

Yes. I owned both versions at one point and a psx/sat gun.

The only regional lockout I'm aware of with light guns are on the Dreamcast. You should have no problem with the Saturn. If I remember correctly, the zombie blood in the Japanese version of House Of The Dead for Saturn is green. I owned this at one point but it was quite a long time ago.

Thanks a lot, guys. Knowing this, I'll likely grab a Japanese one soon.

In fact, one is now on the way. I'll make sure to post back and let everyone know how it goes, etc.

Even though it's been confirmed I can say NTSC-J HotD works with the US Stunner lightgun on both an Japan and United States/Canada console. Shame the game isn't better but there isn't much to choose from that is better pardon the Virtua Cops.

I remember having a ton of fun with it at the local arcade, so I'm hoping it's still as awesome when my copy comes in.

I like it. The not-so-nice textures actually add to the creepy feeling, IMO.

I'm running the Japanese game on a Japanese Saturn with a couple of Japanese Sega light guns (one with a yellow trigger and one with a black), so I can't answer your questions... just tell you that I found House of the Dead enjoyable! Just make sure you use it on an old style CRT TV! The light guns don't work on newer TVs.

Of course. I keep a tiny 13" with tons of RF modulators pre-plugged so I can just move my system box over to it, plug it in, and blast some zombies, dinosaurs, aliens... etc.

Received the game in the mail yesterday, and had a jolly time with it. A little awkward since the 4mAutoPlusKey requires me to use a regular controller to start the game, then switch to a gun, but nothing too horrible. My Nuby PSX/Saturn gun works like a charm. Thanks guys!
