I think you are 100% right here. I will add this, though.
Remember the "Easter Egg" in the Gameboy version where you could actually play through the game using Goro? Now that would have been a hell of a "trick" to include in the SNES or Genesis version back then and it was wasted on the Gameboy port.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

I was the one that asked, and I actually took a look at their policies just for shits and giggles, and they do ask that you stick to talking about their games.
A rant about why the PS3/Xbox sucks doesn't exactly qualify as talking about their games.
If I take that stance and add to it the sheer number of posters here who point out that IronDragoon likes to puff out his chest and preach the evils of 360/PS3 while praising the PC/Wii, it's not exactly a huge leap of logic to assume he did that there too. And of course they rightly got sick of it and canned him
(<and there was much rejoicing!>)
Of course, like everybody else who has ever been banned, he decides to post somewhere else about how unfair that is, assuming we'd all rally to the cry of injustice and boycott Midway and their fascist boards.
(<and he was greeted by crickets and mocking insults>)
THE END

Time will be when the broadest river dries
And the great cities wane and last descend
Into the dust, for all things have an end
Every forum has limits as to what can be posted. So I guess that means every forum on the web is fascist.
At some forums, these rules are written. At others, they are unwritten and it simply comes down to common sense and decency.
Cheer up! Maybe they'll port it over to a 'plug-n-play'.
You know i love the wii and would love for "Good" games to be ported over. this is not one of those games.
This thread is silly though. either suck it up and buy a PS3/360 or be quiet. It's not like they have money to throw around like EA to have a version for every current console, pc, pda and cellphone model to exist at the time or release.
Or make the people who paid upwards of 800 points ($8) feel like they really got fucked when they calculate the breakdown of cost per title on disc vs. Wii store ...
... like in the case of THIS collection, only that was 900 points per title ($9) on the Wii store OR about a buck and change (or less) per game on the disc:
I can see how Sega would want to stay away from that scenario.
"And the book says: 'We may be through with the past, but the past ain't through with us.'"
I love how people seem to think that developers have a magic "porting" machine that they just dump the code into and -boom- it comes out for the platform of choice.
haha!
You got baaaaaaaaaanned. Sucker.
HA HA!
Seriously. Slag a dev/publisher on their OWN forum and what do you expect? It's like spitting on a cop car and not expecting a nightstick in the face.
I'm no more in denial than Midway or the rest of you are, and just FYI (not that it's really any of your or anyone else's business, other than my own) I get far more professional help than most of the rest of you do or ever will get for yourself, so perhaps you should be scrutinizing your own reality, not mine
now as far as budget comparisons go, I spent $2000 on a new PC in 2003... it played every game that I threw at it, with all settings maxed out flawlessly, until Dirt came out and demanded that I upgrade my 128MB ATI Radeon 9800 Pro graphics card, as well as my 512MB RAM... the year was 2007, so it was time to upgrade for Vista and its promise of Direct X10 HD games that blow everything else available on any other system out of the water anyway... I spent another $2000 on hardware upgrades and the new OS, which I'm now running in addition to Windows XP on a separate hard drive... so I now have 2GB of Kingston Hyper X DDR high performance gaming RAM and 1TB of hard drive space split between the two drives, which are not running in a RAID array, and a 512MB ATI Radeon HD2600XT graphics card, which is a Visiontek AGP model... so as long as developers and publishers give me PC versions of the games, I'm enjoying HD games that blow your XBOX's, PS2's, XBOX360's & PS3's out of the water, and I think that SHOULD bother you... it certainly would me, if I was paying $400 - $600 apiece for those systems when they're first released, and then paying $20 - $60 and most more often $60+ for new games for them, just because of MS & Sony's licensing fees... no one can deny that's the main reason why MS & Sony console games usually cost $20 - $40 more than their PC superiors do... so don't blame me for your buying decisions... I'm only responsible for mine, and I prefer to pay less for games
and as for the cheap Blu-Ray player, I still haven't even had to buy a Blu-Ray drive to be able to play games that kick all the console's asses and serve them to them for lunch yet... my next upgrade purchase will be a new HDTV monitor to display whatever games will take advantage of it, especially when I finally am forced to buy a cheap Blu-Ray drive, IF that ever happens, and by then I'll prolly be able to get one for only $20... I'm still kicking butt and taking names on CD's & DVD's, no Blu-Rays are necessary, and neither is a Betamax
P.S.: in case you haven't noticed yet, Blu-Ray isn't winning the HD war since the death of HD DVD... it's dying too, and it's now considered an enthusiast's niche product... so I doubt the PS3 will be able to save it from obscurity, no matter how much you try to insist that you're in the majority owning a PS3

uh...huh...
Well, I'm going to play my 360 and not care about this thread anymore.
Toodles~
Oh before I go.. Just use that monitor you have already. All computer and monitors made (one that usually can do 1024x768 or more resolution) are technically already HD in some way.. The only difference is that they do not have some "official" stamp of HD.
Now.. toodles.
