Default Removing the pin connector from the Genesis

Is it easy to remove the pin connector? I want to clean it but I'm afraid I might break something. I have a Model 1.

It's soldered to the board, it's not like an NES pin connector that can just slide off.

You shouldn't have to remove it to clean it, there are several cleaning kits available that can clean the connector in the system.

I just used a can of compressed air and a folded index card to get the junk out of it. Works fine now.

Thanks for the suggestion I might go ahead and buy a cleaning kit.
