Default Looking for Video Game stores in Indy HELP

Can anyone point me to some video game stores in Indiana preferably but not limited to the Indianapolis area. By this I mean used places like funcoland. The only place i know of here in Indy is funcoland and they are the rip off kings of the universe. $15 for used NES games.... right..... mario duckhunt $8.....ok..... I think you get the picture. Help me if you can! Thanks

Over here in Muncie Indiana, at the mall we have Gamestop, which is ok i guess, or, my favorite, Daves Video and Tan, you never know WHAT will pop up there, they sell atari games for a buck, nothing good, but still, random peripherials, it is an awesome used game store, you can also rent from there, and tan if ya want.

I passed up a sweet little SNES collection at a little pawn shop in South Bend last year. The shop was so isolated and had such odd hours, it might even still be there... 'Course, that's probably a bit too far out of the way.

Yea its a bit away from Indianapolis but none the less I might head out there sometime or another or try to anyway. Do you happen to know what the name of the shop was?

You can say that again! That's the only place in the wild that I ever saw Sachen games. (In fact, it was the first place that I saw games from Tengen and Color Dreams!) I really can't say that I think too much of Gamestop, though. Last time that I was in there, almost everything was overpriced.

Ah, now where was it... Just east of the corner of Lincoln Way and Ironwood, I think. Casey's General Store sounds about right.

Sorry to say, there's really not much in INdianapolis anymore other than Funco/EB and smaller stores trying to be Funco. There's a 2 store Mom and Pop operation called Video Game Xchange that's trying to be Funco Jr., there's a store by the Caselton mall called Game World that's dipping their toe into the retro waters (overpriced, btw) and there's a used CD store on the East Side that sells some games. That's about it, unless you wanna deal with the infamous Liberty Bell flea market guy *nudges Scooter*.

I will say this for Video Game Xchange, I have found a few things there at non-eBay prices (SMS 3d glasses, a practically new Sega CD, etc.) but it's becoming more and more rare. At least you can get a laugh out of the ridiculously overpriced Tengen Tetris with the fucked up label at the southside location.

I believe QoF and I drove there when I was over last month. Friendly guy, who also had a nice line of Japanese items too. Also had SC2 running on a modded Cube. QoF couldn't complain, she found ZooCube there for $10

Maybe not... best ask QoF if she's around. It just sounds like that was the name...

In Fort Wayne, look for McVan's. Some ludicrious pricing, but otherwise, a nice selection.

Hmm I live very close to Liberty Bell but for some reason never have ventured in there. Where on the east side is that used game store u were speaking of? B/c one was on washington st. but gone now.

We didn't go to Dave's Video. In fact, we were FAR away from Muncie. It was some store called Game...something. Game Now or something like that, in Highland (northwest Indiana). Anyway, it was a combination video/game rental store, and the guy had a very sweet coin-operated Gamecube setup with Soul Calibur 2, a giant screen tv, and a comfy couch. He was also selling official PSX and Dreamcast store display cases for $150 each. I would've picked them up immediately but there's no way in hell I could get those up my apartment stairway.

If anybody lives in the NW Indiana area lemme know, I'll give you the exact address.

Hard to find in real life as well. Checking Google Maps, the only thing I see is a Play n Trade or two (I've had verying degrees of luck with those), which I didn't know were there last month.

we will likely hit a play n trade and a game x change. since these are franchises and not a corporate chain like gamestop, the mersh varies from store to store.

last year, we heard an ad on the radio for a game/dvd exchange type place, and it was on the east side of indianapolis. we went, and it was ok, but i was stupid and did not write the name of it down. a couple of doors down, was a comic book store that had a standup paperboy machine for sale. thats the best description i can give, if anyone can help me out, it would be appriciated.

A couple things that just jogged my memory...

    1. East side comic book store may have been Comic Carnival. I know they have video games from time to time. Dunno video game stores near there though.

    2. In the Broad Ripple Area - 1045 Broad Ripple Ave. to be exact. There is a new video game store, cannot remember the name. Looked to be mostly modern stuff, but I didn't go in. If you search the address it will come up Boardroom Games, but that was the former, wonderful, board game store that used to be in the area The rest of the Broad Ripple area is awesome btw, worth spending some time digging around.
