Personally too happy with my DS Lite to justify a new system for a crap camera and some mini games.

I share some of the sentiments expressed above, but have heard the D-pad is finally on par with the GB Micros, which I really dig.

The low res cameras are pointless to me. However, the bigger and brighter screens had me leaning, yes.
Removing the GBA slot, a different charger (another one to keep track of) and shorter battery life makes it a no.

I still haven't "upgraded" to a DS Lite...the DSi holds nothing I need.

I'm am a longtime Nintendophile and I own an original DS and a lite. I see no need for this model, especially at the new price point. Gonna pass but it does make me wonder if the current DS lite will see a price drop to the magical $99 price point to clear out old stock...

I love my Nintendo systems, but this is waaay too close to the Lite for me to warrant a purchase of 170 bucks now. The lite popularity hasn't even started to die down yet.
will this one end up being the "GBA Micro" of the DS systems?
Everytime a new DS comes out, I always say no. But just like the DS Lite I will be picking this up. The larger screens, downloadable content, and my ever growing collection of DS games says HELL YEAH!

Pass. I love my Onyx DS Lite! If I get another DS, it'll be one of those Cobalt blue ones. Same color as my car....
Let's see, trading in two completely useless features that I'll never use, at the expense of losing the GBA port and lower battery life...
The DSi is a downgrade. And $170? Not only has it gone up in price since launch, but I remember that when the PSP and DS came out, one of the reasons to get a DS was because it was quite a bit cheaper ($100 less, to be exact). Now they're the same price. That's a rarity, as Sony's consoles have almost always cost more than Nintendo's.
If the DS Ware store was tied to the Wii's store (so you could share points, that is), then maybe I wouldn't be inclined to laugh so hard at those who do buy it.
But, what do I matter? I've been proven, again and again, that I'm so far disconnected from Nintendo's target audience this generation, that I might as well not exist to them.

I picked up a black DSi and I really enjoy it. The camera isn't so great, but you can do a hell of a lot of fooling around with the images after you take them, and the same goes for playing music on it. The screens are larger and brighter, but the battery life sucks. The dpad and buttons are also better.
Overall if I had to pick a DS Lite or a DSi I would go with the DSi, but I kept my Lite since I need the GBA slot.
I'm not much of a DS whore if I don't have a DSi to go with my phats and lites. I can't let the internets down!
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

Not unless my DS Lite breaks. I'm perfectly happy with my Onyx DS Lite for now.
