Default Deep Fear for Saturn question

Interested in this game, and I am curious which version I should scout for : The japanese NTSC or the UK PAL? I'm looking to play it in the english language. Also could anyone point me in the direction of a great region mod walkthrough for the saturn as well?

If anyone has any comments about this game, please let me know your thoughts.

    thank you

Deep Fear was an excellent game! Upon it's release my friend got the japanese version for christmas and we played through a great deal of it.

Both the Japanese and UK version have English voiced cutscenes! This was a BIG plus!! The only one with English text however, would be the UK version.

The cutscenes are legendary. They are so hilarious because the voices are so bad. There is a scene a little way into the game where this guy named "Debwa" shouts something like "AHHHH. My beautiful creation!!!! Destroied!!!" or something like that and it is so freakin' hilarious!!!

Other then the bad voice acting it's a VERY good game. Solid graphics, great atmosphere and an excellent OST by Keji Kawai... so you can tell it was a big budget title for the time.
If a god is willing to prevent evil, but not able, then he is not omnipotent. If he is able, but not willing, then he must be malevolent. If he is both willing and able, then why is there evil? If he is neither able or willing then why call him a god?

The UK version was the last UK PAL release and it's rather pricey. I'd go with the much-cheaper Japanese version. It's easy enough to navigate and far cheaper plus no PAL/NTSC issues.

    The voiceover ARE hilarious.

This thread has inspired me to break out my Japanese copy and try it out. For the region mod, go to www.mmmonkey.co.uk Or, there is a simple, one switch method if you just want to do a US/J mod. PM me if you want details about that one. Of course, the easiest way is to use a ST-Key, or a Game Shark, or an Action Replay.

Hm, I just won this game on eBay for a dollar. I'm glad I did!
It sounds really good. I've been needing some new survival horror for a while.
    In Heaven, everything is fine.

The Japanese version is fine to play through, no trouble at all. You may need a walkthrough for one bit that involves mixing some stuff (from what I remember, anyway) but other than that it's not a hinderance and doesn't detract from the game.

The game even was featured in a Segata Sanshiro commercial spot.

I guess I should look into importing a copy sometime
