Question Sega CD Mod 2 - Sonic CD music stops playing

    Hello,

My Sega CD mod 2 while playing Sonic CD drops the music track after 10 or so minutes each time I play.
    • I have cleaned the system thoroughly with compressed air
    • I have copied the original CD to ensure scratches are not the issue
    • Checked all connections to the system

I do not have this problem with any of my other Sega CD games (Final Fight, Rebel Assault, NHL , Afterburner III). Any suggestions?

*I am using the RCA audio out on the Sega CD Mod 2 for sound.

Buy another copy of Sonic CD?

Perhaps download a different copy and see if it works any better? If not, then it's definitely a system problem.

If you can't get your hands on another copy of Sonic CD, I doubt anyone would fault you for downloading one from a torrent for testing purposes (since you own the game). If the burned version doesn't work, then you know it may well be a hardware issue.
