Vectrex Imager... THIS rare?

I know these are tough to find, but this seems WAY too expensive, or have they really gotten THAT hard to find?

I saw 2 sell for more than $1100 in the last 6 months.

I just got a nice boxed one off of ebay for $375. I didn't win the auction but I bought it from the high bidder. I think the auction ended at $475 or so with a bunch of empty boxes, manuals, and overlays. He really wanted the boxes and I really wanted the 3-D goggles so it worked out well for both of us.

That's more in the range I thought they went for. I have one boxed with the manual and colorwheel, plus a couple other 3D carts loose and am toying with the idea of selling it off myself, hence my interest.

How is it to play? Is it cool? Does it work as described?

Still trying to figure that out... I'm HOPING the problem is with my Vectrex and not the imager. can't get the games to come up and probably buying a second Vectrex to confirm what the problem is.
