Apparently, Nintendo was being sued over infringing King Kong's copyright with Donkey Kong, and Howard Phillips dressed up and acted like Donkey Kong in court to demonstrate his differences from King Kong. Imitating a video game monkey in the name of Nintendo... I could see that for Howard.
