Default Your Most Exciting/Emotional Video Game Moment

I remember (wasn't that long ago) when playing MEtal Gear Solid 2: Substance on a mission for Snake Tales section. In this mission you had to fight Solidus in the sword fighting rooftop stage with NO SWORDS and 2 rations. After many treis I FINALLY beat it. It was a joyous occation. What are saome of your most emoutinal/exciting gaming moments?

    Default Rogue Leader goodness

Being an avid Retrogamer, I DO enjoy an occasional good romp with a current system, and boy did Rogue Leader do the job for me. I and my co-pilot Dan Weltch, were stuck on the Death Star II run. WE FOR THE LIFE OF US COULD NOT ACQUIRE THE GOLD MEDAL. After several days of trying over and over again, my friend put the shell of a Darth Vader Helmet on.....chugged a few cans of beer........and beat that dam thing once and for all with a gold medal. We were jumping up and down so much and screaming, that I thought the entire neighborhood was going to wake up at 3:00am in the morning!!!

Well mine is actually recent..on a classic game. Bomberman. After two days of on and off trying to beat the end round, I finally did it (out of luck) and got to see the ending finally! I'm afraid at what Bomberman 93 has to offer at the end

    Great Question!!
Mine would have to be years and years ago, I was playing Mike Tyson's Punch Out, this is when the game first came out. My friends and I played this game for Hours, for Days, for weeks. All of our free time went into playing this game, instead of playing outside with our bikes, or playing hide and go seek, We were playing Punch Out, after school before and after dinner on the weekends, it was GREAT! (Good Times, Good Times).
We were beating one guy after another getting closer and closer, and then one day it happen, (the great thing was this happened when i was there watching as my best friend was sweating and playing his very best) "He Did It, He Did It"! We yelled from the top of our lungs, We jumped up and down giving high fives to each other. He beat Mike Tyson, TKO second round. It was a great thing, We stared at the TV with the biggest grins on our faces, we did the impossible. When it was finally over we began to cry, why? you ask, What the HELL were we going to do now!
play hard to win or else...

I remember the first time I ever saw the NES in action, a buddy of mine told me I HAD to see his friend's new video game. I go over there, and he's playing Super Mario Bros., and his mom says he's been playing it straight for a week. After having and playing my 2600 for so long, the sheer JEALOUSY I had at that moment surely qualifies as my most emotional video game moment.

I can relate with the jealousy, but replace the VCS with a NEs, and replace the NES with a Turbo Grafix. And I'm still trying to get my hands on one.

and Bomberman on TG-16 IS hellaciously hard. I never got to 8-8 in '93, but that game is one of my favorites of all time.

I don't know if this really counts, but the most excitint moment I've ever had involving video games was probably taking second in a DDR Tournament near here. The little bastard that beat me is just barely tall enough to come up past my waist. But, seriously, I was sure I was going to lose in the first or second round, and when I managed to waste this kid who was MUCH better than me in the 3rd round (PA rules), it was extremely exciting.

Probably for me one of them was beating Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy for the first time when I was younger.

Beating Super Mario Bros. for the first time. By myself. Had that thing paused for something like seven hours or so until my brother got home and I could gloat.

Mine's gotta be tournament related in capcom vs snk 2...the first one has to be when in my first tournament picking S groove, I came out in 7th place out of some 30 odd people, losing to the best guy in michigan. And then a year later we do another tournament, first match was against him and I came within inches of beating him. I had the entire arcade behind me, it was awesome..just the sheer electricity in those final seconds on timer ticking down and Honda went to to desperately rushdown Raiden and then he's dizzied, I go to do the Honda super and....fucked it up. did a normal headbutt, raiden survived to give me a nice, loving 720 to the face. I would have collapsed had it not been for the bizarre cheering section that had formed to my left.

I'll list that as the best match I've ever had, and even though I did real poor that day overall, the fact I almost beat "VDO" when it really mattered rekindled my enthusiasm for the scene, and made me swear to take him down next time.
