    Default SNES GPU Problem?

Okay, I have this SNES, and recently its getting theres very bothersome white lines over all the sprites. Im assuming its a GPU failure, but I'd figure I'd get some other opinions before I replace it.

If you need a picture, let me know!

Sorry to ask, but have you made sure that the carts and the cart connector on the console are clean? If there is a bad connection this can cause graphical issues (though I don't that I've seen this on the SNES, I don't see why it wouldn't be possible).

Well, Ive made sure the games are clean, and tested them on my FC Twin, and they work just fine. And I've tried cleaning the actual console, still nothing. ...

And Dairugger, Its this small chip :P... so yea! traditional onboard video ;p

Classic case of the connectors not being clean. Even the manual for the official Snes cleaning kit has a picture of this as an example.
<Evan_G> i keep my games in an inaccessable crate where i can't play them

The SNES has been falling apart for some time. Their "PPU" (Picture Processing Unit) are just failing, causing all sorts of glitches either on sprites, mode 7 effects, or anything scaled and rotated.

I tried to fix mine but ended up causing more harm than good.

Haha.. on Mode7 games (tested with starfox) it looks kinda like a VERY glitched wireframe game! Any tips on cleaning the pins? id use a q-tip like i do with my games.. buttttt they are too big ;P

Starfox isn't a mode 7 game That's a game with it's own graphics chip that pre-renders tiles and sends it to the SNES PPU.

I'd take an old doner cartridge, put a thin cloth over it and wet it (don't soak) in rubbing alcohol.
