I finally got around to spending some quality time with Amplitude over the weekend (better late than never!) and got to wondering which game you Freqs prefer... and WHY?

I like Amplitude A LOT more!
Frequency was hard to the point of not being fun anymore. I hated the fact that you had to be "right on" the mark for every note. Not a milisecond before or a milisecond after. I couldn't get past the first stage without jumping up to turn off the system. Plus you had to blast the notes when they were directly under your ship, which was at the base of the screen, I don't know why, maybe it's a mental defect, but that messed me up a lot.
Amplitude I liked more for those milisecond grace periods, sure the music would sound funky if you took that extra milisecond, but you could atleast save the track. Plus, the blaster was infront of your ship a way, which comforted me (see mental defect above). Maybe the music wasn't as trippy as the first one, but still a good mix. There were a few bands that could have been left out.
I chose Amplitude, but it was close.
Frequincy had much better music, but the game design of Amplitude was a huge improvement, far out waying the inclusion of SLipknot (shudder).
I am in fact the guy that made the Raisins prototype worth thousands less by dumping it. "D'oh!!"
I agree with the two posts above me - the music is much, much better in Frequency, but Amplitude is a more solid game.
though Rez is better than both of them :-)
I personally perfer shoving bawls bottles in my ass....but that's not an option....errr..what I meant to say was I like Amplitude better...yeah...I swear that's what I said....uh...what this??
RIP Kamino. 1984-2010. Yes, yes I do like nes...
<+skaar> Maybe you should ask yourself "What is it about me that makes men not want to let me penetrate them?"
As much as I've come to love Amplitude recently, I have to say that I still like FreQuency more. I just think that Amplitude was a pushover in comparison, with the exception of the Komputer Kontroller and Slipknot songs. Aside from those two songs, the rest of the game was much easier.
The entire last Expert stage in FreQuency still kicks my ass. Once again, thanks to Komputer Kontroller in particular for doing so. Robo-Kid/Intersekt also does a good job of beating me to death.
Also, I like the tunnel from FreQuency better. It didn't move up and down hills, no crazy flashing lights to distract you, and was just a better playing field overall. It was much, much easier to look ahead at other tracks to keep your combo going.
My $.02.
Amplitude has a better gameplay and I also like the musics. One of the best improvements was the first person view, that put you close to the notes, making it a better game experience.
I have Frequency but haven't had the chance to try out Amplitude. It's one of these "one of these days" titles to add to my list of games to get.
I was an idiot and recently erased my old FreQuency save, so I've been slowly rebuilding it from scratch. It's like I've rediscovered the game. Everything feels much tighter and it all flows better. That's after I played Amplitude for a good 3 months.
Six months after my older post, still the same conclusion.
