Betamax came out in 1976 and it was still getting movie releases into the 90s and the players were also made until the early 2000's. Betamax is very hard to collect for a lot of people due to the increasing rarity of good working players. They are extremely complicated unlike LaserDisc players. I cant believe anyone can afford collecting Beta. The tapes are impossible to find anywhere and the players in good working order cost a motherload. I have two Beta decks and neither work sufficiently.

Alright, back to the garage sale finds..Got everything in these two pics for $20:
But was quite surprised when I opened Dark Wizard and discovered this:
Snatcher, baby! Loose, but still! Snatcher! But it doesn't stop there:
Final Fight CD inside the Sega CD unit! The only downside is that the NES Action Set didn't have Mario/Duck Hunt with it...But it does have the instructions and warranty card thingies underneath the system! Best garage sale haul for me ever!
Medal of Honor Underground and Big Bass Fishing, black label PS1, $.99 each, mint and complete.
woo
.
Hey, you're practically in Edmonton.
I might be moving there in a year or two. Mind if I ask you where good spots to get retro games are? I lived there for a few years in the early 2000s and new a decent shop... I think it was on 118ave. not far from NAIT, but that was about it. I didn't hit up many game shops then. I was too busy trying to hit something else up...
For better or worse, I'm won't be in a position to act like the two smile guys above, so gaming it is!
i think calling it one of the best deals ever is a little exaggerated, it was a great deal, but not insanely good. The 2 hd dvd players for 20 was a much better find.
I have found about 5 sega cd genny combos in the past 2 years at garage sales, they are not that uncommon. I have yet to sell any of them yet, lol.
Autobots. Roll out.
Great Sega CD find. If you want to part with Final Fight or D&D, let me know

A craigslist find. Atari Lynx Model II with 4 games, box, and all intructions & paperwork for $10. 1'st one I ever saw on there so I snatched it up fast.
And another one that wasn't actually my find but is pretty noteworthy. At a thrift store, my dad bought a mint complete boxed NES system for $3!!! Usually all I ever come across is just a dirty bare bones system for no less than $8.

Latest finds:
Tonic Trouble (N64) loose - $2.98
Desert Strike (Gen) loose - $1.98
Super Off-Road The Baja (SNES) loose - 2.98
Super Mario World (SNES) loose - $2.98
Spy Vs. Spy (NES) $2.98
California Games (NES) $2.98
All of these games came from Half Price Books.
Then at Goodwill I found the oddly packaged Korean and/or Chinese "Iron Man" Blu-Ray DVD. I haven't opened it yet, but at $1.00 I'm not expecting much. My guess is this is a bad bootleg, NOT Blu-ray quality, heck there may not even be a disc in the package!
