Default We're opening a store.. sort of!

The flea market went well again last week so we've decided to rent a double sized booth inside the big building. It's more expensive and potentially less traffic on nice days but the booth location is a good one and we can paint and stuff besides have electricity and space to set up stock and lock it up instead of having to take everything and tent andt tables every day. We're not taking anything worth over $10 for carts etc (not counting newer games) unless someone requests it. Hopefully between this and ebay we can clear our some of this stuff and make enough money to pay bills while Brian studys.
Any suggestions on things? I already bought a price gun

For all of our sakes, please use price tags that don't require exteme measures to remove and never put them on a surface that would damage them!

Oh, and in case it's not common knowledge: more cleavage = more sales.

Take the disks out of you cd based games and put them in a binder in teh back...seriously. People will steal your games. just put out the empty cases with the price on them and then put the disk in when the person pays.

Hang up bright colorful signs and banners that say video games and maybe put a sign outside the building that says "Video Games for Sale"

wow.. i cant even get my wife to go to the flea market!

my advice would be to learn electronics repair, add to what you already know about consoles and other related items. take broken consoles in for a tiny store credit and then fix them up for resale. most problems are fairly simple to fix and the average consumer never even tries. a couple at a local flea market in my area does this with televisions and monitors. in our state you cant leave a TV/monitor out for the trashman, they wont touch it, you have to cart it yourself to a state designated drop off center (goodwill for one). a lot of people are not aware of this law or too lazy, so this couple drives around and scoops all these broken TVs for free. then they fix them up and sell them at their stand.

Where is this Flea market located?
I'd like to check it out and your store, providing it's in close enough driving distance from N.J.

Pick up some stuff for cleaning and repairing old games and systems also. never know when someone like us will wander in and if they can buy game sand cleaning materials at the same place, they'll be return customers.

Take trade in's. Give like $1.00 for Nes and sell them for $5.00. $5 for an NES game is still a pretty good price, and giving a dollar a peice is more the EB and Babbages give. Gamestop gives and average of 50 cents for a NES game, and $5 for Final Fantasy, which they sell for $30.

Also, for the love of god, if someone trades something in , and someone behing them wants to buy it, don't say "oh I can't sell it yet, I haven't checked the price on >) Ebay >) " > > >
I am in fact the guy that made the Raisins prototype worth thousands less by dumping it. "D'oh!!"

    Default Selling

Have a concsience and give little kids:

    the time of day
    fair prices
    fair trades
fair value for thier stuff when they sell it to you
and have patience no matter how annoying they are

I'm no children's advocate but... I can still remember when I was a kid. Sales people wouldn't even look at me when I asked for help.
I have witnessed a few shameless individuals who have tried to rip off little kids and I had to interveen. You have to be a real low life when you try to convince a 10 year old kid that his N64 games are worth $1.00 each when you're selling them for $20-50 each.
