Was there a yellow GameCube?

I'm 99.9% sure there was never an official yellow machine at all. The very nice Spice coloured console can look quite yellowy in photos depending on lighting conditions and camera flash.

We (US) got the Spice controllers but not the console. Never understood that one.

The controllers didn't even see the light of day here in Europe. Had they released the console over here in that colour, I'd have definitely got it. Certainly much more appealing than black or purple.

Nice set up, I assume it's yours?

Did they do the GBA-GC cable in matching colours? I was only ever able to find a purple one.

There was a "Starlight Gold" Gamecube released in Japan, and if my 3rd grade art teacher wasn't mistaken, gold is a type of yellow.

Although I'm not totally sure why we didn't get the spice model over here, I've heard that the color was a reference to an early Nintendo TV-Game console.

I guess the reasoning is the reference would have been lost over here where we never saw said Tv-Game, but who knows.

Was there a baseball team one (Hanshin Tigers??) that was sort of yellowish? The pics for the HT one are white with black pinstripes, but I could SWEAR there was one with a really subtle yellow color. Hmm...

As far as I know, the colors that USA got for the Gamecube were:

Indigo
Jet Black
Limited Edition Platinum

Guys, I just got back from Dimension X.

I can confirm that Dimension X did officially get a yellow gamecube. I snapped a pic.

When the Gamecube was first shown, Nintendo displayed a bunch of different colors for the system, most of which didn't come out. I'm sure yellow was one of them. Hey, same thing happened with the Wii.
