I picked up a really nice 24" Insignia (flat screen, wide screen, CRT, manufactured Feb. 07) today, I figured it probably didn't work (it was free), but I took a chance on it anyway. I got it home and it won't power on at all. I opened it up and checked the fuse (it's good) and checked the power button (also good). But that's about where my TV knowledge ends, so I didn't check anything else out.
Does anyone know of anything else that could easily be checked? I don't want to root around inside this thing (open TVs scare the hell out of me thanks to horror stories of people being zapped by them) but if there is something I can get to rather easily and check, I would love to hear about it.
And if I can't get it to work (which I'm thinking is going to be the case) would this have any kind of value on it? It looks almost new other than it not working and a couple spots of tape/sticker residue on the case which could be cleaned off.
